Now forgive me if I'm wrong, but after the Panthers game last year (Where we won 66-14), I got this song from the post match wrap with Andrew Voss. They boys were singing it in the sheds, and after many rewinds and watching and listening to it over and over, I came up with these words, which I believe are pretty accurate.

In a land they call Victoria, Where all the legends dwell.
We're the champion Rugby League team, And we sing a bit aswell.

Ohh, We're half a pack of bastards, and we show a bit of form.
No one can defeat us, We're the Mighty Melbourne Storm.

We'll take it to those Panther Blokes, And we'll really give them hell.
And we will have a lot more points, When they ring the fulltime bell.

Ohh, We're half a pack of bastards, and we show a bit of form.
No one can defeat us, We're the Mighty Melbourne Storm.

That's the post game victory song they apparently sing after well, obviously winning. It's been around for a long time but hardly ever publicized. It's posted before here somewhere.

Jeez, that's the USMC song From the Halls of Montezuma!!!
AFL teams took the music right off it and just put in different lyrics, no different to what British football fans do.

I'm not sure who used it first. There's words for some christian group as well.....Onward Christian soldiers...etc

The Storm version as deduced by a fellow poster (sorry, I forget who it was) here on StormLeague after the Penrith game last year is as follows:

In the land they call Victoria
Where all good legends dwell
There’s a champion rugby league team
And we sing a bit as well

We’re a rough tough bunch of bastards
And we’re in a bit of form
No-one can defeat us
We’re the mighty Melbourne Storm

We’ll take it on those (team name) blokes
And really give them hell
And we would’ve scored a lot more points
But they rang that full time bell

We’re a rough tough bunch of bastards
And we’re in a bit of form
No-one can defeat us
We’re the mighty Melbourne Storm

Lemme quote the Wikipedia entry:
The Marines' hymn is the official hymn of the United States Marine Corps. It is often also referred to as "The Marine Corps' Hymn". It is the oldest official song in the U.S. Armed Forces. The song has an obscure origin—the words date from the 19th century, but no one knows the author. The music is from the opera Genevieve de Brabant by Jacques Offenbach, which had its début in Paris in 1859. The Marine Corps secured a copyright on the song on August 19, 1919, but it is now in the public domain
TS, that doesn't necessarily mean that the US Marine Corps were the first to put words to that tune.

Mate, come & sit with STORM ACTIVE SUPPORTERS. We are doing our best to create atmosphere, and as shown by the chanting at the Grand Final it is bearing fruit in a big way.

Come & join SAS! We need 50-100 regulars EVERY WEEK!
