Sung to the tune of La Cucaracha, it has a very catchy beat, although the lyrics take some learning. I've tried to strike the best balance between content and sticking to the song's rhythm, so it shouldn't be too difficult. Suggestions and comments are ALWAYS welcome, and I'd love for an agreed-upon version of this song to make the song book.

The chorus is simply along the lines of the INTRO, and the VERSES are used to be bag the other teams in the competition, so if you can think of a better line, be my guest. Notice that each team has a rhyming couplet line.

HERE COMES THE STORM / Billy-Bob

INTRO:

Here comes the Melbourne,
here comes the Melbourne, (Storm!)
La la la la la la la
Here comes the Melbourne,
here comes the Melbourne, (Storm!)
La la la la la la la

VERSE 1:

And the Dragons should retire, before they muddy their attire.
And in Penrith they’re just pussies: they’re always running round like wussies.
And the “Dolphins” from Cronulla prefer to sleep with one another.
And the Bulldogs like their six-packs naked, by the pool, on their backs.

CHORUS:

Now come on Melbourne,
Now come on Melbourne; (STORM!)
Come now, Melbourne, hit the gain line!
Now come on Melbourne,
Now come on Melbourne; (STORM!)
Make this another ‘99!

VERSE 2:
And the Sea Eagles keep quite mu-um, when Hopoate’s at your bu-um.
To host the Roosters always ro-ocks, ‘cause it’s great to beat those co-ocks.
And the Paramatta Eels should be afraid to take the field.
And against New-Cah-stle we always like to shout You-Arse-Hole!

CHORUS:

Now come on Melbourne,
Now come on Melbourne; (STORM!)
Come now, Melbourne, hit the gain line!
Now come on Melbourne,
Now come on Melbourne; (STORM!)
Make this another ‘99!

VERSE 3:
And don't forget the Raiders, the goblin-coloured Viking sailors.
Or the Tigers game at home, 64-0 at Telstra Dome.
What about North Queensland? Bringing back the biff’s what they’ve planned.
Best of all’s the Melbourne Storm! We’re premiers when we’re on form!!!

FINAL CHORUS:

Now come on Melbourne,
Now come on Melbourne;
Come now, Melbourne, hit the gain line!
Now come on Melbourne,
Now come on Melbourne;
Make this another ‘99!

Now come on Melbourne,
Now come on Melbourne;
For you we’ll always sing our hearts out!
Now come on Melbourne,
Now come on Melbourne;
Let’s end this song off with a great shout!

MELBOURNE! (clap clap clap)
MELBOURNE! (clap clap clap)
MELBOURNE! (clap clap clap)
MELBOURNE! (clap clap clap)

ad infinitum…

GO STORM!!!
