Cousins arrested and handcuffed
EmailWA Police have arrested and handcuffed Ben Cousins after pulling him over in his car and searching it for 45 minutes in the Perth inner city suburb of Northbridge .

Cousins' car, a blue Mercedes four wheel drive, has been impounded. It's believed a second West Coast Eagles player, as yet unnamed, has also been taken into custody from a separate location.

Cousins was shirtless when arrested.

The arrest was witnessed and filmed by National Nine News in Perth. Detectives from the Gang Crime Squad targetted Cousins and searched his car in front of office workers. National Nine News reporter, Grant Taylor, was on the scene and says Cousins was made to sit in the back of the police car handcuffed the entire time. "He's been taken by detectives to the traffic department where I can only assume he is being tested for blood alcohol limit and drugs."

Cousins is still being questioned by Police. He is expected to be charged tonight but at this stage, the nature of those charges, is unclear.

looks like Mr. Cousins might be looking for a new club, didn't the Eagles say to him he'll get the sack if he gets in trouble again?

oh Nacho you've gotta be joking. It would be a case of same sh*t..... different club.
Ben Cousins is in need of some serious help, footy is not the answer. The other player involved was Daniel Chick.

Don't forget the 01 Flag too.

I used to think he was a great player and seemed like a nice bloke too (until the whole running from the car from the breath test drama).  The guy needs serious help and should never of been allowed back to play AFL.

Apparently Chick is just as bad (this is all heresay).  No wonder Judd packed up and left.

I wonder if this is as bad as it looks, they might give more info on the death of Mainwarring and Cousin's involvement.

Why would he learn? To be capable of learning one must have a functioning brain.

Chick's passenger facing drug charges
A passenger in a car driven by former West Coast Eagles player Daniel Chick has been charged with possessing cocaine and cannabis.

Chick's car was on Tuesday pulled over in the inner Perth suburb of Northbridge at the same time a separate vehicle driven by fellow player, former Eagles skipper Ben Cousins, was stopped nearby.

Cousins, 29, was on Tuesday night charged with refusing a blood test and possessing an illegal drug.

Police said in a statement that questioning of Chick, 31, and his 33-year-old passenger on Tuesday had led to raids on two homes which uncovered quantities of cocaine, cannabis, methylamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

The statement said the passenger was charged with possessing prohibited drugs, namely cocaine and cannabis, and a possessing a smoking implement.

He was granted bail and will appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on Monday.

Chick was released without charge. Police said inquiries were continuing.

Cousins, a former West Coast skipper, will appear in court on Thursday.

If found guilty, it is likely his celebrated playing career will be over
