The ICC Twenty20 Championship starts tonight in South Africa.

For those that are interested Australia is in Group B along with England and Zimbabwe. The group matches see teams play other teams in their group once each. The top two teams in each group (4 groups in total) progress through to the Super 8's stage.

Australia's group games are being played:

Thursday 13/9/07 2am AEST against Zimbabwe
Friday 14/9/07 10pm AEST against England

The main starting times (AEST) for games are 6pm, 10pm and 2am.

The Group C game between New Zealand and Kenya showed the pointlessness of having minnows mixed in with grossly superior countries.

The game was over in 45 minutes. Okay, possibly longer than that, but if so then not by much. Kenya bowled out for 73 in 17 overs. It took NZ less than 8 overs to beat them.

Fox Sports 3. Just watching the end of the Scotland innings against Pakistan. Last over of the game.

Australia's match starts in just over an hour but it's too late for me, I'll tape it on iQ and watch it in the morning.

The Australian selectors should be shot. They have no idea of the differences between Twenty20 and the 50 over version of the game, they also keep selecting too many players based on past performances rather than recent form. The only decent selections they made batting wise were Hodge and Symmonds.

Ponting stuffed up by electing to bat first. They should have sent Zimbabwe in, they may have imploded trying to set a high score for Australia. Instead Zimbabwe went in to bat with a small total to chase. Brett Lee is a good bowler but he is way too expensive.

Now Australia must beat England in order to progress through to the Super 8 stage.

Australia's chances of making it thru to the semis rely on them not losing against Sri Lanka tonight, game starts at 6pm.

If Australia win, draw or there's no result due to rain then Australia will play in the semis on Saturday night.

Great innings in the field by the Aussies. Sri Lanka bowled out for 101.

If Australia win this and Pakistan lose to Bangladesh then we'll play in the semi at 9pm on Saturday night. If Pakistan win then we play at 2am Sunday morning.

come on pakis, lose for us

outstanding bowling and fielding display minus a few errors (hogeys miss held catch but it was a hard one, and watson just let a ball slip past) i doubt that the aussies r gonna take this match lightly on the batting side even thou they should.

well done to clark as top wicket taker so far in the series

Is anyone planning on going to any of the 20/20 games played over here during the summer?

Boxing Day I am going, without a doubt, but the 20/20 games I'm not so sure about.I'm not sure if I'm crazy on the concept and what it's merit is.
Its all fun and games til someone gets kicked in the head...
