Results over night:
Chelsea FC 4 - 0 Norwich City FC
Watford FC 1 - 0 Ipswich Town FC
Plymouth Argyle FC 2 - 0 Derby County FC
Manchester United FC 1 - 1 Reading FC
Arsenal FC 0 - 0 Blackburn Rovers FC
Middlesbrough FC 2 - 2 West Bromwich Albion FC
Sir Alex took the game to easy by naming an average team with no Rooney, Giggs, Ferdinand, Neville, Van Der Sar with Scholes and Larrison starting on the bench. United didn't look like a team many players 'trying' to make a name for themselves instead of working for a result.
Ole was a little hard done by in the first half and it was one of those line ball calls. Saha had a number of open shots that could have seen a result like the Chelsea/Norwich score line.
Carrick from out side the box in extra time in the first half put United ahead and it was a shot that everyone saw it coming they just didn't do anything to stop it. Reading drew level from a set play from a corner mid way through the second half to keep their hopes alive.
Preston North End FC v Manchester City FC and Fulham FC v Tottenham Hotspur FC play tonight and in the morning our time.

This Year's FA Cup WILL be played at the home of Football, Wembley Stadium.
Last minute checks are being held before the keys to the new Wembley Stadium are handed over to the Football Association.
The imminent handover will mean the FA Cup final will be staged in London for the first time since 2000.
The building phase of the troubled £800 million project had been expected to end on Friday.
But final checks were still being made before builders Multiplex ended their association with the contract.
Consumer goods such as soap and drinks have been delivered to the complex, which is set to be handed over to Wembley National Stadium Limited.
On Thursday night, a safety certificate for the fire alarm system was issued.
"That was the last box to tick," a source said.
The number of visitors to the site has steadily increased in recent weeks and a community day is due to go ahead on March 17.

An incident pack game this morning between United and Borough that saw the score end in a 2 all draw.
Rooney put United ahead early in the first half but in the last 10 minutes Borough step it up and right on the half scored to make it one all at the break.
The second half saw Borough come out all guns firing and take the lead within 5 minutes. As United tried to scramble a number of calls went against both teams.
The one (or two depending on how you look at it) saw the Ref award United a penalty due to a hand ball in the box. Have to say that on this occasion the Ref it got wrong as the ball reflexed off the united player and the Brough player only lifted his hands to protect his face.
Yes, it is hand ball but more often than not this wouldn't be given, especially in the box.
Toe Rag Winker (Ronaldo) stepped up for the kick and again another incident when it looks like he stops his momentum when coming in for the kick. The kick was good and the score was 2 all.
Things started to heat up as players from both sides put everything into the final 20 minutes but to no avail.
Both teams will now head to Old Trafford on the 19th for the replay.
