Games take place from the 5th to the 7th of January.

Not in the order as I have posted above, but the order is the game number for round 3rd....if that makes sense.

Perth - a couple more days to wait for Barnet to play ;) bloody English weather 

A few good results from round 3 with the biggest being Arsenal knocking out last years winners Liverpool 3-1 at Anfield while West Brom gave it to the troubled Leeds Utd to make a sad season with worst for Leeds. Chelsea made it look easy and a hat trick by Lampard helped. Roy Keane’s first Cup campaign as Manager has come to an end with Sunderland being beaten by Preston North End.

For Utd, Rooney and Larsson have gelled well already with Sir Alex playing a very strong side. In pouring rain the first half saw a number of opportunities for Utd but Villa goalkeeper Gabor Kiraly worked hard to keep Utd scoreless up to half time.

Rooney set up Larsson early in the second half with Larsson score on debut in the 55th minute. Osbourne came close in the 69th minute for Villa with a good save by Unitd goalkeeper Kuszczak. Villa substitute Mila Baros silenced the Utd crowd with an equalizer in the 75th minute.

A mistake by Villa keeper Kiraly in the 90th minute see Super Sub Ole Gunner Solskjaer score to put United into the 4th round.

But to make matters worse for Villa fans they have to make the trek back to Old Trafford in 5 days time for the Round 23 Premier League clash with United.

A total of 73 bookings (yellow cards) from 3rd round games with half a dozen red cards.

Premier League teams now out of the FA Cup include, Sheff. Utd. Wigan, Charlton and of course Liverpool. Fulham and Middlesbrough play their replays in the next week or so.

Postponed games will be played on the 9th while drawn games will be played on or before the 19th of Jan, depending on team schedules in other tournaments.

All winning teams in the 3rd round receive $40,000PS

SW You can thank me for that lucky win last week.
Talking to some Man U fans on another forum way back when they signed Larsson I was whinging about having the rest of his former Celtic side and saying I wanted him to cap it off ... I followed that with a tounge-in-cheek comment that he would score to eliminate Villa from the FA Cup. Next time I shall keep my mouth shut.

Tonight I'd say it will be much easier for you, you were crap and still got away with the victory you won't have two bad performances back-to-back. I'm expecting 5-0 or 6-1 (the one coming from a dodgy penalty decision )

Christa, glad to see you back, of all my United (dating back to 1972) jerseys Ole is on 4 since we signed him, as much as I would love Larsson to stay, Ole is more important to me in a United jumper, but he has gelled well with Rooney, which I'm pleased with...I just think back to 99 and re-live a year that will forever be special in my heart........After all, it's not every day your team wins the treble in Football, plus the 1st NRL Grand Final and the World Club Championship, and people wondered why I was tanked for months.

As much as I would love your score line I can't see it happening, 3-1 in my books.

Oh, thanks to Buzz for changing this thread to a total FA Cup thread instead of the different rounds....cheers Buzz

Eh, same difference ... I still expect any Villa goal to be only as a result of a dodgy penalty. ;)
I just don't want to lose the same way they did last week ... As I wrote in my blog that was just cruel!
You draw the best team in England hold them for 90 then go down like that, I'd rather get belted off the park.

A PLAYER was jailed for four months today for breaking an opponent's jaw with a punch during an FA Cup match.
James Cotterill, who plays for non-league Barrow, assaulted Sean Rigg during Barrow's 3-2 FA Cup first round loss to fourth division Bristol Rovers in November.

The incident at Barrow's ground was captured by TV cameras and watched by millions on the BBC's Match Of The Day programme, which broadcasts highlights of the cup matches.

Cotterill was jailed after being convicted of causing grievous bodily harm at Preston Crown Court.

"The offence was reported to us, we've acted accordingly and we have to say the footballer himself was very cooperative in the way he dealt with us,'' a Cumbria Police spokesman said.

"He has been contrite throughout for his actions.''

Cotterill, who was immediately suspended, was banned from playing soccer at any level until March after being found guilty in December of violent conduct.

"I'm devastated for the lad,'' Barrow manager Phil Wilson told the North-West Evening Mail newspaper.

"This is a lad whose never done anything wrong in his life, he's made one mistake and he is getting severely punished.''
