but do you really think the AFL GF is as big around Aus as they say??? More people in Melbourne watch the NRL GF live than Sydney people watch the AFL.

Simple. I just have absolutely no interest whatsoever in AFL since the first time I saw the game ten years ago. I'm a fan of impact sports, hence my love for hockey (the ice variety) and rugby league, with and a bit of sevens and rugby union when tri nations come around. I don't watch soccer as well and lost much of my interest in basketball after MJ retired the second time.

I'm still not convinced. AFL 10 years ago wasn't that bad.

It's the over the sholder and in the back rule that has killed it.

I couldn't care less about the intricate details of that game, it's the entire punching the ball thing, scrambling for possession like mad dogs on a carcass, and four goal posts that put me off. The basics of the game really and nothing anyone can say about it will change my opinion of it.

AFL? Not that I've seen, every match I've tried watching in the past 13 years has just bored me to tears. Although I did used to watch the VFL (ie pre-1990).

Best description I've read was "it's like watching a bunch of 36 men chasing after a $5 note that is blowing around a park".

As for Sylvie not making it on screen, I have theories. One revolves around that Delta Goodrem is Channel 10 Product, and their retaliation for Sylvie jumping up and down was to not show her singing. It is tradition that when the anthem starts, they start with the singer and then pan past the players. So I believe it was a snub!

uh Buzz Delta was signed to Sony 3 years before she even had the role of Nina Tucker on Neighbours.

Delta has just had better exposure because of channel 10 she did release a single before Neighbours but it didn't do very well. I'm still getting over the fact that Sydney are the AFL premiers.

Speaking of Ch 10 product, another one will be singing the national anthem on Sunday, Natalie Bassingthwaite. And she will also sing in the pre-match and half time entertainment as part of the group Rogue Traders. Can anyone on Ch Nein sing?
