Brett White has announced he will retire at the end of the season. Whitey was a big contributor to our awesome team for 127 games. Congratulations on a great career for the Storm, Raiders, Australia, NSW and Ireland.

It is a shame he will just miss out on 200 games.

Would have to be one of our 5 best props ever.

I'd have:

1.Kearns
2.J.Bromwich (closing fast on number 1)
3.White
4.Lima
5.Howe

I was at training when this was announced on twitter and thought I'd ask a couple of the guy if they had heard

Hoffy said he knew and was waiting till it was announced...then tweeted to him 10 minutes later

Billy was surprised and asked me if it was effective immediately or end of the year when I told him end of the year he said he was glad he was going out on his terms...he seem surprised

Spoke to Craig Bellamy who said he had spoken to him recently and was happy for him

And cam was like I didn't know I'm gonna go ring him congratulate him

Thinking back to after the Raiders game the other week, Whitey went over to the eastern side fence and hugged etc a number of Storm fans. Family or friends, I don't know, but he seemed to give a wave around the ground after that. A farewell wave perhaps.
Always one of our favourites, all the best to Whitey in life after footy.
