after reading a post in a different section:

Anyway NSW was only missing a halfback (Brainless selectors or brainless coach?)
since he took over,we had good players in the forward pack and singling one out
was a cat act when it was obviously his strategy that had failed against a clubless
coach,On the park he was only filling in the numbers, look up his highlights, its either
cheering or screaming *lima lima lima duck*,he wasnt even a Jarrod Warea-Hargraves,he was a player
the calibre of Lang's son,his retirement meant nothing to anybody besides a few
of his teams fans who may or may not have perved on him,he may have had goat
pictures of his coach as White (Grats on ridding yourselves of a marshmellow) must
have of him

Now we get another myth coaching NSW,Ricky Stuart who had skills as a player
but was never a leader of men

Congrats to Lockyer,Smith,Thurston etc on winning yet another origin series in a
row, when will this be over?,QLD said if NSW won 4 in a row origin was dead, how is
it remotely alive??
i got thinking about possible teams, NSW new pre season camp/coach etc and interested in everybody's early thoughts

When I saw this "serect meeting" in the paper, with a photograph, I had two thoughts.

- Can not be that serect if it is in the paper.

- Ricky has picked the side already.

This why NSW do not win, the pick the side on reputation not form.

When the season starts we always hear how this player is playing great, he is up for an origin spot. They always seem to have about 30 players in the team. But the pick the same old ones and get pumped everytime

it shouldnt be picked already, but we could put qlds side down already! last year in form players like beau champion got pushed aside for beau scott, because they thought they would be able to contain inglis. why pick a player to try and stop another player? why not give your side the best options to score points yourself? stupid selectors

what people have been forgetting all these years is that somehow qld have had very little to no injuries in the last 15 origin games, nsw seem to have an average of 5-6 injuries a series. so when you go up against a full strength team all the time it makes it hard

Origin 1

1 Brett Stewart/Anthony Minnichello
2 Jarrod Hayne
3 Jamie Lyon
4 Mark Gasnier
5 Josh Dugan
6 Jamie Soward
7 Todd Carney
8 Tom Leyroyd Larrs
9 Micheal Ennis
10 Kade Snowden
11 Greg Bird
12 Glenn Stewart
13 Anthony Watmough

14 Luke Lewis
15 Tony Williams
16 Brent Kite
17 Robbie Farah (to replace Ennis at 60 minutes)

If our myth Williams clicks this year,he will be very damaging
and his highlights attest to that, however his lowlights exceed
his highlights so far in his career, its his 3rd year and if his second
year improvement is anything to go by,boy is he going to go far
as his skills as a player have went up 10fold in the last offseason,
still needs more confidence

Theres 2 marked in positions due to the unpredictable 1st
season back of the god of all fullbacks

Thats a side picked on form they once had,how
could you pick Morris and Champion over Lyon anyway?

Still cut he wanted to give up rep football a few years ago?

Josh is the forgotten Morris and Champion hasn't played
under a good coach in club football yet, expect to see him
at his best form of his life in about round 18 2011,his a hard
worker but his got a fair way to go to reach anything near
his potential,he will be a star on heart alone,no matter the
size of the game his playing (unlike Engrish)

thats a typical biased team, people need to pick the best for NSW not their own teams
my team would go something like this

1 Brett Stewart
2 Jarrod Hayne
3 Josh Morris/ Michael Jennings
4 Mark Gasnier
5 Brett Morris
6 Todd Carney
7 Mitchell Pierce
8 Michael Weyman
9 Robbie Farah - need a left foot kicking option, slater picks the right side everytime
10 Kade Snowden
11 Greg Bird
12 Luke Lewis
13 Paul Gallen (C)

14 Kurt Gidley - with his previous origin mistakes is still the best utility in aust
15 Tim Mannah/Keith Galloway
16 Tom Leyroyd Larrs
17 Chris Heigington/ Anthony Watmough

At the start of it i said something along the lines of this is the team on reputation
and i still dont understand how you can think theres a better centre than Lyon
on last years form alone,he was electric all year and has been since we got him
from St Helens, the captaincy just seemed to ramp him up and even while playing out
of position in the 5/8 role he was incredible

Williams is only in there if he reaches 90% potential, the bloke is an absolute monster
and im sure Slater would hate to see him run at him ever again, lol but he does need
confidence and a few video sessions of something very disturbing, the kid is just to nice
and his position on the bench is a wide running back rower, perhaps replacing whoever plays
worst from the back row, perhaps dropmough if he doesnt learn to catch a pass or get
off tackled players faster!!!

While i despise Gasnier i cant see him being left out....which is a shame, also his name is
just to big for him not to turn up,if my team was bias why is Jason King not a starting prop
and why is Kite on the bench? Haters gunna hate right?

Come to think of it i didnt put him in at all (King),nor was Rose and i even stated that Dugan is a
likely #1 thanks to the inpredictability of what Stewart will be able to do in 2011,he might end up
as the new Paul Carrige god forbid

My captain would be Lyon (Been remarkable at club level, perhaps bias there but in my NSW team who
else could even take that role?) with Carney as VC (For when Lyon does actually retire from rep duties)

New South Wales is in a massive hole while i dont know we can get out of but if Cooper gets the nod
i wont bother watching it,he might be an exceptional defender but if he gets selected at centre it doesnt
matter who plays on the wing, the poor bastard wont see any ball unless Carney/Soward throws a cutout

We can muster a team on paper to take Queensland out,i dont think we have it yet, even with my exceptional
selector skills

manly front rowers 2 or 3 years ago yeah were good, now i think they have lost it a little. lyon for club level was great at the start of last year, but i dont think he has it to star in origin, he says he wants it now but if he lost that drive when he come back he shouldnt get another chance, especially to captain. williams might be good in the future, but idris is better now in the same mould of player so he is steps ahead of t-rex atm.

and i feel the same as you with gasnier! i cant see him missing out, so i hope he finds his old form and runs rings around inglis like he did years ago, well he did for 1 game anyway. and cooper should be behind, gaz, morris, jennings, idris, champion, lawrence, m gordon, a few more i forget then lyon  and now cooper.

Yeah i think we're in trouble in the front row,our back row however is unrivalled
Maybe with Snake off they might fire up a bit

Queensland will win this year purely because they have too many superstar players (aka storm or former storm players) this will only even out when the Central Coast Bears start in the NRL and will be able to be the only non-Vcitorian club to be able to produce such talent.
