Having watched 5 RLWC games I would like to know why the double standard of targeting Slater and his sliding to stop a try compared to players from Tonga, PNG, France and Scotland doing the same thing?
The only difference has been that Slater has stopped the try being scored.

ofcourse mate. its bullshit. storm players have obviously been targeted by the nrl and ARL ever since bellyache and brian came out and said what they did.
in the samoa v tonga game...luiaki came with-in inches of booting a player in the side of the face....he was IN FIELD around the 40 metre line trying to kick a ball after they had just knocked on...that to me is much much more dangerous than anything slater has ever done.
its very obvious that our players will now be targetted by the head honchos at the nrl and ARL.

Am I the only one who noticed the PNG player trying unscrew the Kiwi players head in the second tackle of the game.
No comment from the commentators and even the video ref saw nothing wrong with it. I'm sorry but the tackle deserved at lest a penalty.
If Rugby League is serious about protecting the head and neck then a charge should be forthcoming but I'm not holding my breath.

I saw that too, at first I thought Perrett (sp?) was trying to milk a penalty but on replay it looked quite bad.Freeze wrote: Am I the only one who noticed the PNG player trying unscrew the Kiwi players head in the second tackle of the game.
I have been a touch bemused that of all the games played so far I have watched them all on TV and I can only recall one comment being made about a grapple, crusher or chickenwing yet I have seen shitloads of each of those tackles. Likewise with what SW said about the Slater Slide as some have dubbed it.
ohhhh i saw that too sam perrett had his head nearly pulled off damn it and they showed it on replay and nothing was even said
if that was any one from the storm it would have been pulled up on
soooo pissed no wonder cams gonna leave

"I have got my thoughts but I'd rather keep them to myself," coach Stephen Kearney said.
I think we can all guess what those thoughts were
