The Rugby League World Cup 2008 will come to Melbourne in the form of Australia vs England on Sunday November 2nd. Should be good to get another international match here in Melbourne and it sounds like the organisers are aiming to piggy back the Melbourne Cup to boost the crowd figures.

The RLWC 2008 website is up and running for all to check out and keep up to date. http://www.rlwc08.com

I shall almost definitely be there ... Since Cup day 2005 I have said I will be back in Melbourne for Cup week 2008.
My favourite birthdays have been those at Flemington racecourse but there'll be nothing better to do on the Sunday then watch the Poms get belted.

Hey I accidentally bought two too many tickets this morning. Does anyone want to come to the Telstra Dome match with me?
The are category 2 level 1 row d. They are good seats in the corner on the lower level.

Ireland and Scotland have joined Australia, New Zealand, England, Papua New Guinea, France, Fiji and Tonga in the RLWC 2008.

One spot still to be decided. The qualifying for this final RLWC spot is taking place tonight with USA vs Samoa and Lebanon vs Wales, the winners to play off on Wednesday 14th of November for the final spot.

In typical fashion nothing has been arranged for Australian viewers to see any of these matches. I thought Fox Sports or ESPN might have covered them but obviously not.

Well USA and Wales are now out of contention for the RLWC having lost to Samoa and Lebanon respectively.

Samoa play Lebanon at 6:30am AEDT on Thursday 15th of November. It's a pity the Bulldogs won't release El Masri to play for Lebanon in the qualifiers.
