Well it looks like it's happen again. Just when the game is getting some good promotion here in Melbourne this will be all over the media tomorrow.
A QANTAS flight was held back for half an hour whilst Bulldogs club officials went into damage control over a bomb joke made by a player.
Bulldogs prop Nathan Miles allegedly asked fellow team-mate Hazem el-Masri if he had a bomb strapped to him as the team boarded a flight in Sydney last week.

A hostess overheard the comment and alerted the captain, who delayed the flight for half an hour until Bulldogs club officials intervened to assure Qantas staff it was only a joke.

The flight then took off for Melbourne, where the Bulldogs played the Storm on Friday night.

Miles' manager Gavin Orr said the NSW Origin pick was sorry for his actions.

“Unfortunately these guys have said something in jest and it's gone on a little bit further than what it should have,” Mr Orr told Channel 7.

“He's deeply sorry about what's gone on and very apologetic.”

The Bulldogs have reportedly accepted Miles' apology and said they will take no further action

Typical of that disgraceful club. I can't stand the players and they certainly have the worst supporters in the league.

Can't argue there.
I can't believe I was actually allowed in the the Storm post match function, where was the security last Friday?

As you would expect I caused a horrible scene - managed to get my vodka drink all over the place, just ask Tigger (although I can't say how good her memory of the night will be  )

Lucky they're not in the US. Miles and El Masri could go to prison for months after making that joke :?

Fortunately, despite little Johnny's best efforts, we are not the 51st state. Yet.

Yeah it was stupid, but it's kids stuff. And hardly worthy of the vitriol it's created in a number of media outlets.

Sure it's a serious issue, but I reckon maybe some people (especially the Doggie-haters) are getting a bit precious about it all.

By itself it's not worthy of much news time but it's not really a one off incident is it?
The media are right to lambast the club because we are an absolute disgrace to rugby league.

I should be told off as I was in Brisbane this year or have been in Newscatle in the past. I don't deserve to have the freedom to go to the games that I want, such as Newcaslte v Parra or Manly v Roosters (but thats a thread for later) because I am as bad as the club for supporting their stupid players ... having said this, I refuse to give them up so please do tell me off like the ladies who spoke to me in Brisbane and Newcastle did.

The media do seem to be making milage out of the incedent, with the AFP now asking Qantas to "please explain" why it wasn't reported.
*shrugs shoulders*

You have to wonder, given the previous treatment of airline pranksters & the Dogs media record WHY an elite sportsman thought it would be such a funny joke  :?
Kind of gives weight to the opinion of other codes fans that RL players are no neck meat heads  ::)

Because people who write for AAP usually have no idea what-so-ever. Thats why they never put their names to the articles.

There is a much better article on the front page/page three of the SMH. It wasn't something that was tucked away on the sport section so regardless of what some here think it must be newsworthy.
