So there seems to be a distict lack of compiled stats available to the average NRL fan, which for a supposedly professional game, is a little embarrassing.

Whilst stats don't ever tell the whole story, it is often a good way to determine if your general impression is on the money or off the mark for whatever reason.

I have compiled some individual stats for the 2013 (Storm only) based on the individual game stats kept on http://live.nrlstats.com/nrl/season2013.html. NRLStats used to have a decent historical library but from what I understand, this was locked down and is now only available for a fee.

If there actually is a site that you use that his this kind of detail and I am just oblivious, please feel free to point out how I have wasted my time and provide a link.

Below is a summary of some key individual stats (mostly averaged out per game, 5 game min to rank). If you want different details, just ask. Or PM your email address and I will send you a copy of the complete spreadsheet.

As you said, stats don't tell it all, but it's interesting to see the differences in attacking stats between Finch and Widdop.
If Finch was fit for the second final, wonder if it would have changed things...

Bellamy has his favourites. Those 2 obviously weren't putting in enough effort at training or something. Both hardly got a chance this season.
