It's not like the club has ever moved a players position for the benefit of the team either.
He got busted in pre season. No telling what Bellamy was going to do if he hadn't got hurt - there was potential that Hughes would get a shot at halfback, or that Drinkwater might have got there in time. Now we'll never know because it seems he decided he wasn't going to fight for a spot with the dominant team of the last 20 years and would rather take the easy route.

The other thing worthy of note is that people whine continually about who we lose - I was particularly peeved that Walker never got a shot - and no-one seems to rate Croft. (Back in the day not many rated Cronk either, and he hardly burst onto the scene). But Craig's decisions have worked in the long run. In the 16 seasons he has been here, we have won:
- 6 minor premierships
- 4 premiership- 2 World Club Challenge
- never finished lower than 6th (except 2010)
- finished top 4 11 times
- finished top 2 8 times
and we are running first this year with more wins, more points and less points conceded than any other team and we don't look to have hit near our best yet.
Maybe the old bloke has a bit of an idea what he's doing?

Nah, you're right blazza; it's probably just a fluke.

 We haven't had someone bring out the Bellamy resume in an argument for years. Smh...Next time you complain about literally any player not getting dropped I will no doubt copy and paste your post in response. Cannot question Belllamy ever.

Now on topic. Hughes had a bad preseason and came back unfit and IIRC overweight and got injured. He was lucky things played out the way they did.

It's total guess work to assume Drinkwater doesn't want to work hard or fight for a spot. We don't know anything about the situation other than he's now leaving. Which no matter what, should annoy you as a fan of the team.

I read the rumour somewhere obscure but can’t find it mentioned anywhere credible. Would be nice but I’m sceptical.

Apparently it's done. He was supposed to play at Easts last weekend but they couldn't get it done quick enough.

Really? Kata commented on it on Friday and dismissed the rumours. Reading them again now, they aren't as 100% solid as the title suggests :-\

We waiting to move Scott or Drinkwater before Kata comes official?

Obviously has some talent and better than Seve. Not sure on his defence or fit on this years team unless we move Chambers back to the right?

IF we get him and IF Craig can get him making better defensive decisions, there is big upside to Kata. I can't remember us having a big, damaging ball running centre since GI.

Was looking through the state league teams and the thought occurs that Luke Page wouldn't be a terrible depth signing for us. Any thoughts?

Might as well, give Darryn Schonig a deal.
