Official thread and signing news
I absolutely love a couple of those players, but I think your expectations are crazy high on some them and how bright the future is at the club. We don't even know if Hampton and Mann are apart of our future with Hampton off contract this year and Mann next. Still have some older players on contract for a few more years too.GoogleD wrote:Off the back of our 2 resignings.... We're really building up a great core of young players (pardon the pun) - the Bromwich's, Young T, Proctor, McLean, Harris, Hampton, Mann.... Really bright future. Along with Craig's recruits each year of experienced campaigners - I don't think we have a fear to be unsuccessful.
Don't mean to be a downer, I'm just looking at things from a different side of things.

There was talk of him carrying an injury (bone spurs or something?) It seems painfully obvious to me he's not travelling at 100% - i just don't understand why he'd play through it, and that the club allows it....unless he's worried about losing his spot or something? Maybe it's untreatable? I dunno...Though it's not like the club has nobody else that could play there..
And have you got a game by game breakdown of Youngs' metres? One of the last two games he seemed to be absent....i mean, he *might* have run for 100m.....but at least 80 of those would have been sideways. Not really having a dig at him....but it was markedly down on his previous efforts.

Do you reckon we need to sign one? Surely just go with the young guys?
No probs, below. I'm sure you were joking but for the avoidance of doubt, the stat on metres only counts metres gained, not ran sideways.KingHoweofIsrael wrote:And have you got a game by game breakdown of Youngs' metres? There is obviously a bunch more to being a good winger than the number of runs and metres you make. More than stats can show. But I think Young is a real good prospect. I love his enthusiasm and work rate. Similar to Fonua but without the errors. But, not as damaging with ball in hand as Fonua.
Keep it up Young.
Very true. When he puts it together though, he can be amazing. That game against Canberra last year is a good example.Mattpoet wrote:I suppose that's the trade off you make with Fonua though, he is damaging but it comes at a risk.
