Not sure signing Jacks is that bad. Surely he’s as cover and not to start week in, week out.
Also, how has Cooper Johns looked this year along with the club’s other QLD Cup halves?

Will apparently also received a lifetime membership to the club. He spoke about the opportunity with Japanese rugby saying he "just couldn't pass it up" (*wink wink* get it? as in he doesn't like to pass...)

"Should the Cowboys land Holmes for 2020, The Daily Telegraph reports that club plans to move Scott Drinkwater from fullback to five-eighth to partner Michael Morgan in the halves.".....
well...we should have kept SD to play half back...

Remember this day, men, for it will be yours for all time
We must all hang together or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately
For anyone who asks why we're rumoured to be in cap trouble the last 12 months.
Also why I'm kinda concerned about upgrading Paps' deal now rather than in 12 months time when we have a better idea of what player he is or isn't.
Always a risk in paying players on potential.Croft is on a deal worth just shy of $400,000 at the Storm for the next two years

You win some and you lose some. Over the past few years we've got some great football out of the likes of Hughes, Brandon, Paps before having their deals upgraded. Even a bit further back with Suli and Munster and I doubt JAC's first deal with us when he came over was a lucrative one.blazza18 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2019 11:13 am For anyone who asks why we're rumoured to be in cap trouble the last 12 months.

Not convinced that Croft is a bust yet either. Looks like we have 2 years to try and extract some value.
Glad we didn't cave to the Broncos demands on this one. They can get stuffed.
Paps definitely earned an upgrade but I’m worried about his durability. Just based on the way he plays and the sheer size he gives away, he surely can’t keep up with making 30+ hit ups a game... I’d love to be wrong though.
Having said that, given Croft went behind Bellamy’s back meeting with the Broncos, I’d say he can look forward to a year in the Q Cup. I doubt he will play much first grade and we will retain him on principle as an injury back-up.
Agreed that the Broncos can get f*cked. Either take him at his current salary or jog on.

Honestly my main gripe is the process in how the NRL deal with players heading into their "free agency" year. Paps isn't off contract until after next season. We shouldn't have to worry about teams offering him a big deal until then. Same with Tino and all the other young players coming through.
