Storm Fans' Team of 1st 15 Years
Up on the website now you can vote for your top 10 forwards until April 13, your top 10 backs from April 14-27 and your full team from May 1-31.
Hard to limit myself to 10 forwards, so many good ones over the years. For some reason they have Quinn and Hill in amongst the forwards, can understand Hill if he's in as both 5/8 and lock but Quinn has me stumped.
Here is how I think the team will end up looking:
Fullback - Billy Slater - isn't Robbie Ross unlucky to have been followed by him, would be a shoe-in for the best fullback with a record like that after only 15 years at most clubs.
Wings - Matt Geyer and Marcus Bai - Apologies to Steve Turner, Anthony Quinn and Matt Duffie but, Geyer and Bai are the two stand outs in my opinion.
Centres - Matt King and Greg Inglis - Two big and powerful, apologies to aaron Moule, Tony Martin, Israel Folau and Steve Bell.
Five Eighth - Scott Hill - Just ahead of Brett Finch with Gareth Widdop closing fast, Inglis, Geyer and Tasesa Lavea are smokies for this position though.
Halfback - Cooper Cronk - I think he's now in front of Brett Kimmorley with Matt Orford another step behind.
Props - Robbie Kearns and either Glenn Lazarus or Rodney Howe with the other coming off the bench if they name one - apologies to Brett White, Jeff Lima, Adam Blair, Russell Bawden, Antonio Kaufusi, Ben Roarty, Jesse Bromwich and Aidan Tolman.
Hooker - Cameron Smith - The standout in a position which has had amazing depth when you consider we've also had Richard Swain, Danny Williams, Ryan Hinchcliffe and Nathan Friend play here.
Second Row - Ryan Hoffman and Stephen Kearney - Ahead of Michael Crocker, David Kidwell, Sika Manu, Ryan Hinchcliffe, Paul Marquet, Kevin Proctor, Jeremy Smith and Danny Williams.
Lock - Dallas Johnson - Tawera Nikau may get in ahead though, very hard to split them with Hinchcliffe and Williams outside chances too.
Bench if named - Howe/Lazarus, Johnson/Nikau, Blair and Hinchcliffe.
