May as well get some discussion going now for this weekends match, will be interesting too see the backline for Friday nights match after WIll Chambers had a solid game on Sunday. I'm going to say he will go back to Quinn and O'Neill unless they are not fit.

1. Slater
2. Duffie
3. Nielsen
4. O'Neill/Chambers
5. Quinn/Chambers
6. Widdop
7. Cronk
8. Bromwich
9. Smith
10. Norrie
11. Manu
12. Proctor
13. Lowrie

14. Hinchcliffe
15. Ryles
16. Vave
17. Hoffman

I thought Will was pretty good, as was Waqa. I think we will see something like this:

1. God Amongst Men
2. Duffie
3. Neilsen
4. Chambers
5. O'Neill
6. Kelly
7. Cronk
8. Bromwich
9. Smith (c)
10. Norrie
11. Manu
12. Proctor
13. Lowrie

14. Hinchcliffe
15. Hoffman
16. Ryles
17. Vave

I just can't see Gaz being fit on a 5 day turnaround, plus i kind of wanna see what Kelly can now offer in the top grade.

Loving the "God amongst men"
I like your idea of putting Kelly in the squad, but I'm not sure if he can fulfill the shoes of a starting FE, TBH. :?
Hope we can get a great atmosphere this Friday, too!

I think Kelly would look to impress bellyache and try to secure a spot in our team. Can't wait for team announcement tomorrow!!

I'm looking forward to seeing what kelly can offer at top level ! That's if he plays though, I hope he does. I'm a big fan of luke and I think his got better skills And can offer a lot more than what Widdop does.

Chambers done good enough to get another go in my opinion, if quinn or Oneil are out? I don't see both of them playing though..

I reckon something like this:

1.slater
2. Duffie
3. chambers
4. Oneil
5. Neilson
6. Kelly
7. Cronk
8.Bromwich
9.smith
10.Norrie
11. Manu
12. Proctor
13. Lowrie

14. Hinchy
15. Hoffy
16. Vave
17. Ryles

Chambers was solid and I think should get another crack too prove he should be in the top squad, Oneil if fit would go straight back into team.
Bellamy will have some selection headaches..

8. Atlas (reputedly the strongest in the group - from a good source ;) )
9. God Amongst Men (c)
10. Norrie
11. Missile (as in heat-seeking - Sika)
12. Proctor
13. Lowrie

I also love your "God amongst men' moniker for Slater but I would've used it for Smith....how about the others? I've done my version of a few - I know they all have nicknames so how about naming the team we think will play in this manner?

where does the nickname "Atlas" come from?

As for the lack of athmosphere up against the AFL...what a load of horseshit. I have walked out after games that have had AFL supporter come to me after the game and say "were they your fireworks? That's awesome!"

Would love to see Kelly get a crack. I'd back him to make the most of it too.

Just a thought - doesn't really relate to his name or anything & I'm sure there's better ones but....I'm told he is the strongest in the club, bench presses the most & is the hardest to get down any time in the wrestling etc so...strong man, strongest man, mythological strongest man/god in the world, Atlas. Bit dumb I know but at the end of the day was just having a bit of a moment. Would love to know their nicknames & think it would be a good (& different) way to name the team - keep the trolls frustrated & guessing for a wee bit...till the team is officially named anyway

That most likely won't be the exact lineup come friday night.
Oneil may play if he can prove fit?
I find it hard to believe that Widdop will play after rolling his ankle and with just a five day turn around..
hoffman starting? I thought he was great off the bench, proctor was also very good starting!
I doubt that will be the exact team friday night.?
