Melbourne Storm is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Bunn to the position of Recruitment Manager.
Bunn arrives at the club with extensive experience in rugby league recruitment and elite player development.
Mostly recently Bunn has served as the Brisbane Broncos football and recruitment manager (1997 to 2011), where he oversaw the recruitment of a number of talented players to NRL level.
Prior to his 14 years at the Broncos, Bunn was the foundation recruitment manager at now defunct South Queensland Crushers from 1994 until 1997. He commenced his rugby league career as development officer at Redcliffe Rugby League Club.
Melbourne Storm GM Football Operations, Frank Ponissi, said the club was excited to make the appointment.
“We are very pleased to have been able to bring someone of Paul’s experience and knowledge to Melbourne Storm,” Ponissi said.
“Paul’s strategic planning ability contributed to the quality of players recruited to the Broncos’ NRL team and we look forward to that experience contributing to our club.”
Bunn’s primary role at Melbourne Storm will be to oversee the recruitment and development of talented players into the club’s Under 20s squad. He will also play an important role in assisting Head Coach, Craig Bellamy, and Ponissi in identifying and recruiting players into Storm’s NRL squad.
Bunn will commence his role immediately in Brisbane, before relocating to Melbourne
