Light Reading From the Tele
MELBOURNE Storm's week from hell got even worse in the early hours of yesterday morning when one of their players was arrested and locked up for drunken and disorderly behaviour. Mitchell Johnson is a Toyota Cup front-rower who originally came from the Entrance Tigers. He has a colourful history at the club. He got into a fist fight with team-mate Adam Woolnough at training this year.
* FOR the second straight week, the NRL dodged a bullet with a near altercation between a coach and rowdy fans. Last week, I reported how police escorted a fan out of the SFS after he heckled Sharks coach Shane Flanagan. And last Friday night in the powderkeg at Brookvale, a couple of fuelled-up Manly fans exchanged angry words with Storm coach Craig Bellamy - never one to back down from a confrontation - after the on-field fisticuffs.
Fortunately, fellow Storm officials shielded Bellamy from the fans, but clearly the NRL needs to look at more security for the clipboard brigade.

As for Johnson I'll judge the seriousness of this on how the club responds, not the Sydney media. He was locked up for drunk & disorderly- big deal!! He wasn't fighting or deficating in hotels, or drink driving, and no underage girls were involved.
Just the Sydney media trying to make something out of nothing. In the hope of derailing our great club no doubt. Johnson, as far as I know, is out for the season through injury and so what's 'the problem with going out' and getting drunk?
In the full article there was also mention of a fight at training, which happened months ago during the off-season between Johnson & Woolly. Dismissed at the time as nothing in it, merely frustration at the end of a long, hard day.
And then this;
"...a couple of fuelled-up Manly fans exchanged angry words with Storm coach Craig Bellamy - never one to back down from a confrontation - after the on-field fisticuffs."
They are just trying to tarnish our great club with a slur campaign. And suggest that we're a bunch of thugs, including our coach.
But after all their digging if that's the only dirt they can come up with then they've got nothing!!

Well if he's broken a club rule then they'll discipline him accordingly. It is not for the Sydney media to try to turn this into a big deal. There was no mention of the Storm's zero alcohol policy, merely a smear campaign when coupled with the Bellamy bit.

the DT should be more focused of the feral behavior of the moronic sydney based supporters.
