Maitua cannot even train with a NRL team or use their club facilities until mid-May when his ban expires, and that could reduce his price significantly, to under $100,000. The lure of Melbourne Storm's environment -- being out of the rugby league spotlight in Sydney and working with the former assistant Test coach and NSW Origin coach Bellamy -- is strong.
...
He better be cheap if we don't even get him to train until may!

Storm would be a great place for Reni to start again, what a steal he would be if we got him back to somewhere near his best. Take the risk IMO.

I really like the type of players we are actually looking at signing

Reni is super talented and was a kangaroo before he was banned. I believe he just got back from thailand after doing a gruelling 6 week muay thai fitness regime, so he will certainly be physically up to it, can cover lock, 2nd row, 5/8 and centre.

I hope we get him, he's only 28.

Maurice Blair is mentioned in the Telegraph (on line) to be a possibility for us as replacement for Finchy.
It's Storm season.

I read somewhere the other day that Jaiman Loew is also being chased.

I haven't seen much of Sione Kite but the prospect of him and Norrie (my new favorite) in the engine room is one to get excited about!

Sorry BigG. Didn't see any other thread relevant (may be a reslt of not looking really hard!) and didn't think it was worth a new one so it ended up in here.

Okay, someone had to ask and it may as well be me.

Haven't we already got Thommo at the Storm?

I loved his reaction a few years ago in Canberra when he got Man of the Match for the Raiders!

On the Under 20's, I'm of the belief that we should be re-signing the kids we currently have here. Remember, the Thunderbolts this year are a very, very young side.
