okay guys, apparently he's a 5/8-lock. Do we really need another one?Would be handy if our players are out injured but we have Hill as 5/8-lock, Cronk 5/8-lock-half, Johnson-lock, Kidwell-second row-lock-center, and Geyer winger-center-fullback-5/8.

I'm not sure it's money well spent #-o.

He's 22, 188cm, 95 Kg and possibly a prospect. Debuted in 2002 with the Warriors, moved to Parra after 2003, stuck in Premier League all season long.

He could be a fair player then if Brian Smith didn't use him - I mean they did take Junior Langi off our hands :)

He sounds big enough to play in the second row. However I do think that unless he improves out of sight that he will be spending most of the year playing for Norths.

And with him being brought, what does that do for the Ben MacDougall?

Maybe they were trying to say something else when they took away his rights to negoitiate?

Umm.. I heard it was Steve Turner's right to negotiate that was withdrawn as he still has 2 years left and was looking to start matches instead of playing second fiddle alll the time. After all, he was brought in to replace Ross but Slater was given the spot instead.

Don't forget, Slater already had Ross's spot whilst he was injured... which was pretty much most the season. It was still up to Turner to displace Slater...

I think Bellamy will move Slater to the centres at some point. If Steve Renouf could beef up his defence and turn into a world class centre, so can Billy.

Yeah I agree with you there Fampa. Slater played wing in Origin and showed he still has brilliance out there. It probably why they decided against giving Turner permission to look elsewhere. Maybe the change will happen sooner rather than later?
