I think that the eagle is forgetting one very pertinent point about stewart's off field behaviour, that being Brett 'I think with my snake" Stewart is facing possible jail time!  Maybe he can be the best fullback in the joint, if his body lets him!

I actually think Stewart when fit is a very good player, all seems along time ago now though ,

When he was at his best i thought Slater was slightly better, and so did the selectors,

But there has to be serious question marks over his future now , his body is brittle,

and he has a serious court case looming , and if found guilty , he could be out for a long time, cant see the NRL wanting a guy that has sexually assaulted a young girl being involved  in the sport .
Go the Allblacks, Richmond , and the mighty Storm

September 13th is a loooooooooooooooooong ways off ,which puts the continual harping about guilt or innocence in the same league as the continued comparison of Stewart to Slater.
Billy Slater - Playing for - Storm - Queensland - Australia
Brett Stewart - Left knee injury - out for season
Comparison -IRRELEVANT

mmmm but they compare past and present players so not really irrelevant
if you had history youd compare Billy with former great storm fullback

Eagle,  I have heard Ray Warren say on many occassions that he has seen many great fullbacks over the years and Billy Slater is the best he has seen.  Also, I have herad Clive Churchill's widow say that Billy Slater plays the same way her husband use to play.  Once she even said that Hayne does not come close to be the second best fullback when you have Slater playing the game.

Now if Churchill was the best fullback ever and the one person who would know says Slater is as good, then we have history to compare Slater.

We do have history, young Troll.

Robbie Ross was one of the best fullbacks I have ever seen.
An absoltue tradgedy that his back went out on him so young.

Slaters longevity and achivements wouild have to have him as a greater player.

Isn't this thread about Adam Blair??? ? ???

Trolls hijack threads. :laughing3:
