Potential Sporting History
I don't know whether anyone else has realised this, but if the Storm keep winning and actually end up in a position where we would have gotten the minor premiership, we would become the only sporting team in the world (as far as I know) in the professional era to come both first and last in the same season.
The only other top flight team I know to have done this is Fitzroy in a 4 team VFL season in 1916 where Fitzroy finished last after the home and away but had to participate in the finals because of there only being 4 teams and actually won the premiership.
Something to shoot for and stick up Gallop and co.
As Lance Corporal Jones used to say in Dad's Army, They don't like it up 'em.

I can't research this atm but I'm sure the Dogs of 2002 had the most wins that season.

As far as the top grade goes:
Souths went from minor premiers to wooden spooners in 1989-90.
The bulldogs almost reversed this last year.
Western Suburbs were 'spooners in 1933, premiers in 1934
Canterbury went from premiers 1942 to spooners in 1943.
There might be more, but these are a few examples.

Canterbury in 1942 and then 1943 ... but according to their history most of their 42 premiership side was then conscripted to the war.absentee wrote: Has any other club ever gone from premiers one year to "wooden spooners" the next?

just to be really mercenary - all the storm gear u have with this years stuff on them (good and bad!) could be worth a small fortune for your kids...or their kids...or...& so on. This is 1 moment/year in rugby league history that probably won't ever be repeated so hold on to your programmes, your tickets etc (I watch TOO MUCH Antiques Roadshow!!!-have to get a life) but if I was in Melbourne or at any of the other games...

Bulldogs won 20 games and drew 1. Had a points differential of +272.
They hold the record for the most games won for the wooden spoon and the first club to get wooden spoon with a positive points differential.
