Latest news as of 1:30pm suggests only Cross is in danger of missing the big one so not 5 as has been suggested. I wouldn't believe a thing written by Manly...

According to all radio news I have heard today at work and we have to listen to news out of NSW, they only player in danger of missing is Cross.  Also, all the latest print media are saying the same.  The latest artcile even said the scan came back and the hamstring is not as bad as the throught and he might be able to train.  But he is still in doubt because Bellamy said just because you can train, doesn't mean you can make it through a whole game.  All the other players have been cleared.

Unfortunately, even if Benny is declared fit, Bellyache and Co. might rule him out
The good thing is, is that we have some more than handy big boppers waiting in the wings.

MELBOURNE prop Ben Cross is now rated a likely starter in Sunday's NRL grand final after scans on his injured hamstring came up clear.

Cross was thought to be next to no chance of taking on Manly in the decider after limping off midway through the second half of yesterday's 26-10 preliminary final win over Parramatta.

But scans came up clear with Storm physio Mary Toomey hopeful of having the Newcastle-bound prop running by Tuesday.

"His scans came back not too bad," Toomey said. "You can see the area he injured a couple of weeks ago and he's got a bit of swelling around that but there was no sign of any new injury.

"It looks like the pain he had was just a hamstring spasm and we'll work really hard on him and see how he is in a couple of days time."

Cross will continue to undergo around-the-clock physio and will even spend time in a hyperbaric chamber in a bid to play.

Garrett Crossman will remain on standby and will continue to train with the side in the lead-up to the match.

But scans today came up clear with Storm physio Mary Toomey hopeful of having the Newcastle-bound prop running by tomorrow.

"His scans came back not too bad actually," Toomey said.

"You can see the area he injured a couple of weeks ago and he's got a bit of swelling around that but there was no sign of any new injury.

"It looks like the pain he had was just a hamstring spasm and we'll work really hard on him and see how he is in a couple of days time."

Garrett Crossman will remain on standby and will continue to train with the side in the lead-up to the match.

Storm duo Israel Filau (calf muscle and Clint Newton (ankle) were also both today declared certain starters on Sunday.
Filau?

Yeah..... but what about the others. There was a little on the 7 and 9 sports bulletins tonight.

Billy will play with pain-killing injections if he has to but says he'll be 100% by Sunday.

Hoffman? Big loss if he's out. He runs like a farkin' centre and that was such a big play to send Kingy in for try one on Sunday.

Newton? He's handy. Maybe shadow him with Rua or Tagatese if he's injured.

Folau? Is bigger than both matai (assuming he plays) and Bell. We know his worth. If he can out jump the opposition outside backs theres a try or two in it for s.

Cross is the most doubtful starter. I'd bracket him with Crossman and put blair on the bench if he gets ruled out.
