As a relativly new supporter of the Storm I do not feel qualified to undertake this feet, so I will throw it open to the 'True' storm supporters who have been there for a number of years......

mmmmmm, Not being one to take a backward step and saying what I think I'm not sure how many will stick their heads on the line for this but I will.

These are in an order I would put them in so they are listed in the team.

1. Robbie Ross
2. Billy Slater
3. Matt King
4. Greg Inglis
5. Marcus Bai
6. Matt Geyer
7. Brett Kimmorley
8. Robbie Kearns
9. Cameron Smith
10. David Kidwell
11. Paul Marquet
12. Stephen Kearney
13. Tawera nikau
14.Arron Moule
15. Matt Rua
16. Richard Swain
17. Glen Lazarus

Now what a team that would be, the only issue I have with my team is that I couldn't include 'SLEEPER'....sorry!

1.  Slater
2.  Geyer
3.  King
4.  Bell
5.  Bai
6.  Hill
7.  Kimmorely
8.  Lazarus
9.  Cam Smith
10.  Kearns
11.  Kearney
12.  Kidwell
13.  Nikau

14.  Orford
15.  Swain
16.  Howe
17.  R. Ross

I think as good as Inglis is, he's not team of the decade just yet - but he will be very soon me thinks.  The toughest spot was Orford v Kimmorely.  Simply because Orford is the all-time leading pointscorer for the Storm, and played a number of seasons where he performed very well indeed.  But Kimmorely gets the nod for his few seasons, including the Clive Churchill medal in the GF.

I could not leave out Scott Hill.  We've had no other 5/8 other than him, and putting Geyer in out of position does not make sense, nor give credit to the work Geyer did in his wing position.

Players unlucky are A. Moule, D. Williams, M. Rua.  I think Kidwell is lucky to get his spot.  I feel he's been a solid, but not particularly spectacular and quite prone to the brain snap be it a penalty or a forced pass at precisely the wrong time.  If I was especially game, I would have replaced Kidwell with Nikau, and placed Dallas Johnson into lock position.

This is not an easy exercise, but thats good - it means that in 9 seasons - we've amassed a quality list of playing talent - with more to come.

Why? Because it's my post .  Feel free to post your own team...

Seriously though...Noddy may be not up to Orfords standard in recent years (though Orford still has yet to play for Australia, let alone NSW), but during his tenure at the Storm he helped lead us to one game from the GF in our first year, winning it the second.  Both feats are certainly more than what Orford accomplished, whilst he played well, we seemed to fall short in the finals seasons and he was absent in many of these big games.

Orford deserved (IMO) a bench spot for his contribution to the Storm, but Noddy earns the starting spot due to what he actually delivered during his time (and not what he's done since).

1. Ross
2. Geyer
3. King
4. Moule
5. Bai
6. Hill
7. Kimmorley - much as it pains me to say.  I don't think it was coincidence that the year after Ox left we made the big one.  Ox was quality but didn't stand up under pressure IMO
8. Lazo
9. Smith
10. Kearns
11. Kidwell
12. Kearney
13. Nikau
14. Williams
15. Howe
16. Inglis/Slater.  Can't split them yet, although i do think Inglis is going to be the better player by far.
17. John Lomax (hahhahahahaah) nah, I'd go with Rusty for his impact off the bench.
Storming our way to glory!

At last someone has said the obvious about Mat Orford.  But don't forget Cooper Cronk, the next Australian Numer 7

Who would be your 'TEAM OF THE DECADE' ?
Never was much good at looking backwards,so I'll say..........

It's still under construction  ;D

The team of 1999 - saw out the century win a GF win & an unbeatable GF record crowd
The team of 2000 - brought home the WCC
The team of 2006 - brought home a minor premiership & a GF appearance
The team of 2007 - Will they be our 'Team of the Decade' ?

Can't come soon enough !!
