Pramac D'Antin Ducati teammates Alex Hofmann and Jose Luis Cardoso got a feel for the city before the weekend's GP races at Phillip Island.
"I love it here," said German Hofmann as he and Cardoso worked out yesterday with Melbourne Storm's Matt King and Matt Geyer. "For me, Australia is right up there. I love the atmosphere at Phillip Island, the people and the whole scenery.
"It's such a nice place and it comforts me. I always feel really good around here."
Grand Prix Corporation chief Tim Bamford urged all sport lovers to get to Phillip Island.
"A September weekend in Melbourne without Aussie rules is almost unheard of, but sports fans need not go without their dose of world-class sporting action," Mr Bamford said.
