It's like comparing the Graveyard to Stadium Australia and calling the Graveyard a shyte stadium!(not that I'm saying you do...).
Telstra Dome - The Home of AFL!

I love it! Undercover! I just like it that way..

According to the AGE Tthe Melbourne Storm will today announce that it has completed a deal with Carlton to use Optus Oval as its administrative and training base from next year until the redevelopment of Olympic Park is complete.

At least the decision has now been made so everyone can get on with prep for next season :D :D

Now confirmed on Storm web site

As a member of both clubs, this is pretty cool news. Can't wait to go to training(s) now!

I don't think they're too great, because Carlton want some serious $$$ from the government to redevelop the site. But as Buzz has said earlier, the playing field is sweet. Optus Oval is set in the middle of Princes Park which is a big, er...park, with a 3.3 kilometre running track around it and I'm sure Bellamy will be putting it to good use.

The Big Day Out is being held at Princes Park this year and I reckon Matt King's gunna be bunking up at Storm HQ and sneaking in come late January.

Buzz, what's access like to the playing surface of Optus Oval?

Just wondering for those that are wanting to go and watch Storm train from next year, and yes that includes me.

Haven't been to a training session since it was officially Princes Park. Access is usally easy - go through the social club entrance I believe.

they got rid of the best suburban ground! Waverley Park! but anyway my question is, how are we going to practice goal kicking, i presume they will have AFL posts up there? and also you cant simulate a rugby league rectangle field on the oval? are they going to paint lines for both codes?

Heres to my half century of posts! :P :P

They'll plant rugby league posts on the ground according to the article on The Age (or is it the Hun?). Gosch's isn't exactly rectangle either, they painted the lines over the grass.
