You could not have known that when the whole scenario was playing out back in 2002 unless you've been watching Smith play for Norths week in week out because he played only two games or so that year for us.steaming stormer wrote:Not the same scenario as Swain and Smith... while Swain was good, Smith is better.

That, my friend, is why Fampa is an invaluable resource.Thunderstruck wrote: You could not have known that when the whole scenario was playing out back in 2002 unless you've been watching Smith play for Norths week in week out because he played only two games or so that year for us.
We must all hang together or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately

Where is she anyway? She used to give us weekly updates on Norths.

I am of the same thought as many of you. I think Matt Orford will leave. Over the years it seems that Manly are a club that can't be stuffed bringing juniors up through what is a footy heartland. Over the past 20 years, they have always had money, and they have always poached. Next year will be no different. However Orford may not go there!
I have a feeling Orford may be the Gold Coast half back in 2007, and to fill in time next year may play a year for an English Super League club. And if that is the case, I wish he'd just come out and say it, so we can move on. I'm sick of him dragging it out and putting us all through sleepless nights. He's a fantatsic footballer on his day, but I personally think he may be a bit OVER valued.
In any event, we have Cooper Cronk as has been stated, as well as Marc Brentnall, the son of the great Greg Brentnall, and if Marc was to get the job if Orford goes, his family are all here in Melbourne, and that may just be the key to keeping a half back long term.

If Orford was going to England, he would have signed already. He's waiting till 12.01am 1st July to sign with Manly.

I'd say he hasn't signed because he has to wait until the 1st of July, but the contract is on his desk already.

We'll wait in half an hour then. If Monaghan does stay at Manly, Orford may look more likely to stay unless Souths have money.
