Just thought I'd post a little story about something that happened at the social club after last nights game. I thought some of you may be interested.

My mum was getting this little Hat thing signed by as many of the players as she could find when she overheard someone say Russel Bawden 's(sp?) name. She walked over to him and asked him if he would sign the hat...Just as she did another supporter said to him "I was really hoping I'd get to see you and Danny Williams playing in the same team again" Rusty looked at the bloke and said "Danny Williams is a piece of Shit" Mum, a little shocked by eharing this says to Rusty "Oh Tell us what you really think" and Rusty turns to her and says "He's a Bastard, I really can't stand the bloke." Mind you he'd probly had a few sarcastic tone "Thank you for remembering me" and flashed her a massive smile

He was nice about it and really quite funny.

And before that...on an entirely unrealated topic...My little brother(15) took the hat to be signed by Ryan Hoffman and was then about to get Matt King to sign it when I pointed out that Craig Bellamy was standing near the stage, Kane (my brother) walked up to him and asked him to sign it just as the MC guy (can't remember his name) called Craigs name to come up on stage Craig sort of gave Kane a little wave which i took to mean as, I'll sign it in a sec, then looked started to turn towards the stage. I told Kane to wait there until Craig came back and I'm guessing that Craig heard me cause he turned around and waited for a little while while Kane got the Hat back out of his pocket, then signed it for him before going back up onstage. I thought that that was just a really nice thing that he did...Although he might have taken pity on Kane cause his hand was in plaster but It really does make you feel good about our coach, that he made evryone else wait for the sake of one fan.

Sorry If i've bored you with these stories! Forgive me?????

I guess the story of what happened between Rusty - Ben - Danny on that holiday will never be told, but it sure has left some scars :(

Interesting little story...makes you think about the Ref in T's book when he tells about Williams slugging Tes Lavea at the Anderson camp.
Maybe the Rusty comment was on track.

I reckon Rusty may have had his tongue firmly planted in his cheek when he said that about Danny.
Is Rusty back at the London Broncos? That's where Danny has gone as well isn't it?

I had a chat to him and he was great, telling us he was just here for a drink.
As usual, he was kidding around with the fans posing for photos in all sorts of different poses.
Good to see a (former) player who doesn't seem to mind mixing with the fans.

Rusty left London to go to play for UTC in France. Then the best I can work out he went back to London. On a list of ins and outs at London at the start of this season it says that he with a couple of other players have 'returned to Australia' - as seen by Allykat this weekend. This suggests he's not currently with any club over here. He's definitely not at Huddersfield.

Here's the Super League list of ins and outs:

It was great catching up with Rusty, he has always made time to socialise with the Storm supporters.

He told us he has now relocated back to Melbourne and will be here for the next 2 years at least, so look forward to seeing him more at the home games! :)

Cheers

I didn't realise he was back in Melbourne and staying for a while.
When we asked him how long he was here for, he was a bit vague and just said "yeah" when we asked if it was a week or 2. It'll be good to see him at some of the home games again.

Thanks for the link Graham. Seems like there's lots of "ins" from Australia, isn't there.
