NAS scored a try and also got sin binned today too, he is definitely having an interesting day out

Annesley explaining the Munster no try.
A couple of points in rebuttal though:
1. Klown doesn't actually call surrender
2. How do you know that Mariner doesn't intend to get up and run? Munster is too fast

The ref is still required to actually call surrender. It doesn't happen 'til he says it.Mattpoet wrote: ↑Mon Apr 08, 2024 4:43 pm https://www.nrl.com/news/2024/04/08/gra ... er-tackle/

Unfortunately over the last 18 months Annesley's weekly spot has become less about explaining and more and more about justifying the ref and/or bunker's decisions - right of ludicrous.
We must all hang together or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately

Doesn’t do any favours to the NRLs case when the highlighted passages clearly says the referee will call surrender in that case.
I wasn't aware of these "briefings" and I don't think I'll be wasting my time in the future.Mattpoet wrote: ↑Mon Apr 08, 2024 4:43 pm https://www.nrl.com/news/2024/04/08/gra ... er-tackle/

I mean, what a joke. How very politician like is he in his answers and unaccountability. Completely ignores the part about the referee "shall immediately call surrender", are the journalists (if we can call them that) allowed to ask questions / interrogate?
I've always been a fan of the tacklers standing off the player and waiting for them to raise. Could we have a "Mexican stand off"?
Does this mean the involuntary tackle is now dead?
