28th minute - game is very back and forth, Vaalepu has looked strong since entering and Pezet has a massive boot. We are losing the field position battle though need a lift.

33rd minute - a few more silly penalties and we are under the pump once again, discipline still a huge issue and Bellamy addressed it pre-game and will not be happy

35th Minute - Another penalty for an escort by Russell-Smith, and Katoa stops a certain try with a great defensive knock down.

37th Minute - Papenhuyzen with a try saver and the defence has been great under pressure, we hold on again with only a few minutes until half time.

Another penalty I’ve lost count how many we have given away and the Dogs score under the sticks after a long period of sustained pressure. But the Bunker intervenes and gives us a reprieve for an obstruction.

Jonah Pezet with a scrum trick play on the stroke of half time and chips ahead for a lightning Paps to touchdown, what a try to finish the half!

Pezet converts and we take a 12-10 lead into the sheds.

Been very impressed with our grit in defence, still very poor with the discipline but have hung tough to not let the score get away from us. Paps was great couldn’t have asked for a safer but also exciting return, he was great. Ieremia has been strong and as previously mentioned Pezets boot has been a difference maker.

In the pack we have been industrious if not penetrative, Tristan has tried hard, and Wishart has been busy, but Lazarus has been the one that caught my eye, he looks like he could be a very very good player in the future.

Been a bit disappointed with some guys, Russell-Smith looks out of his depth, Bradley was anonymous and Pene just looks a reserve grader to me as he always has since we first signed him.

Interesting 2nd half coming up.
