No where near as bad as NAS's hit. Turn it up.

A shoulder breaking someone’s jaw and it doesn’t even warrant a penalty!???

That should be enough to rub Klein out of the first grade refereeing ranks. Completely unacceptable!

Very frustrating night, everything went against us tonight.

Credit to the effort from the boys, didn't stop at any point.

Realistically it was a pretty good effort to lose by only 14. Two tries for Parra, one after they got an inside ten metre penalty after they knocked on and Sivo from scrum when Foxx was called for a non-existent knock on (in hindsight should have used captain's challenge).

We were down a man for 10 minutes and the Eels only scored a penalty goal during that time..

Yes some of our last tackle options were average (but you would expect that with no C Smith, Munster or Hughes).

Next week we will be down a few more Jacks, maybe Schonig and maybe B Smith, hopefully cheese is only concussed and doesn't have a broken jaw (no idea how that wasn't a penalty) and NAS, possibly Vete and Johns suspended. Cam Smith and Jesse due back, hopefully Hughes too.

Hynes showed some good signs.

Wasn't as bad as tackle by NAS. Surely shoulder to head warrants a penalty.

If it makes you feel any better, reading facebook/reddit, most neutrals side with us on a lot of the calls (no penalty on Brandon, Sivo being a laydown Sally etc)

Anyone see the press conference? Third question in was: "brad arthur defended his players saying they dont lay down tackles and he doesnt coach them to do that". Bellamy "I disagree with Brad".... then some other Melbourne official says sorry we have to ctach a flight, this was like 2 minutes in lol

From press conferences:
Brad Arthur happy with win and defence, acknowledged Storm had players missing. Was asked about crusher tackles and said hard to tell from box and was asked about whether Sivo stayed down, he said no, he doesn't coach his players to stay down.

Craig Bellamy (short press conference, cut short as had to leave to catch plane, not sure why Storm press conference wasn't first). Craig said he was proud of effort given debutant, new captain and disruptions during the week. Was asked about 8-1 penalty count and crusher tackles. He said that the tackles were by definition were probably crusher, that no one does a crusher on purpose. There was a crusher on one of our players but he got up and played the ball so there was not penalty. He got told that Arthur said that the Eels didn't stay down. Craig said he disagreed with that. As he was leaving was asked about Brandon and he said he had a broken jaw. Asked about refereeing (I think comparing NAS tackle and the tackle on Brandon) Craig said as he walked out door "Inconsistency."

Yeah, sorry my original post was meant to get at the fact it seemed like Bellamy was pulled from the press conference by Storm as there was a risk he would get baited by a question and slip up... the Arthur comment won't get him fined but it must have been too risky to continue the conference.

Goodness gracious. These last few weeks have been disastrous re injuries and suspensions. Truly a nightmare run.

In amongst all of that , the team has been superb. To only go down by 14 tonight , away to a flag favourite who had their best 17 playing, with no luck from the officials ( to say the least ! ) was an extraordinary effort. If we can get anywhere near our best team back for finals, and come up against that mob again, we will kill them !

Hynes is a real find. Now clearly in our best 17.

Pole, it did seem a bit odd I think it was Frank Ponissi who came in and stopped the press conference. Wasn't sure about taking it the way you have. I just thought it was another thing to add to the weird things of 2020.

RobbieRoss I think Hynes is our 14 on the bench now.
