Next week v Manly on Sunday
In: Jesse Bromwich, Cameron Smith, Jahrome Hughes, Chris Lewis, Aaron Pene (if fit), probably need another prop on bench if my thoughts below are correct not sure if we have one. Hopefully Schonig recovers on time.

(based on this week's injury report it is probably a week too early for Munster)

Out: B Smith (broken jaw up to 6 weeks), Jacks (hip), NAS (likely susp), Vete (likely susp given crackdown), Johns (possible susp, would be very unlucky given Sivo put his head there), Schonig (possible out with concussion)

Alternatively we could move Eisenhuth to lock and have Tino be a bench prop. Although there isn't a lot of difference between prop and lock nowadays.

I honestly can't stand Sivo. Between the cheap shots in last year's final and the stay down injury faking followed by the miracle recoveries last night. Guy's an a grade flog.

Blazza18 that doesn't surprise me. He looked like he hurt his leg in a tackle about 5 metres out late in the game too.

At this rate, Hynes will be captain too

Pole, it did seem a bit odd I think it was Frank Ponissi who came in and stopped the press conference. Wasn't sure about taking it the way you have. I just thought it was another thing to add to the weird things of 2020.
Fair enough, already the headline on NRL.com is "Bellamy questions Eels gamesmanship".

In all honestly, good on him for calling a spade a spade, the Eels were trying to milk penalties and it worked.

The thing is too, there is no second grade being run at the moment (either QLD or NSW Cup) so when a guys Johns, NIcho etc get called up mid season, they havent played a competitive game all year. So it really is a double hit.

i didnt mind if we lost last night the way we did
It had to be expected with all the outs and the fact that we have been up for so long.

We reached the tipping point with the outs we had. Luckily we have done enough work that we can afford even a few more losses for top 4 to still be locked in. 2 more wins should do it, but we are now going to really be line ball with getting Suli, B.Smith and Finucane back in time for 1st final.

I just wanted to get through a game without an injury, thats 5 games in a row now where we have picked up injuries. But this was almost the worse of all, as we got 3-4 injuries and probably 2-3 suspensions.
We literally will struggle to field an adequate side next week even if we get a few back.

Haven't watched the game yet so can't comment. Hynes, from what I've seen must be in the halves (and maybe needed to be last night). I think the "experience" argument (Hynes and Johns together) may have been considered and hence went with Jacks. I also don't rate Jacks highly but then were we going forward to give the halves a chance? If Jacks plays next week there is our hooker.

Did we go off too early after beating the Rooters with half their side out?

The first thing Bellamy needs to train the boys in this week, is the ability to turn in tackles, back up, then sit on your ass and tuck your chin to your chest. Then stay on the ground holding the back of your neck.

Do that at least once a set.

It is obviously a proven formula for getting cheap penalties (and getting innocent opposition players suspended). If we want to be competitive, we have to adopt this milking tactic that has been empowered and encouraged by NRL HQ.

I hope you're joking, and I don't think Bellamy can do that after last night's press conference haha.

It was very much tongue in cheek... Having said that, Parramatta have been using this tactic for a while now and have received virtually no scrutiny for it. Brown and Sivo do it every game without fail.

I hope after this game there is some heat, they were called out on it a few weeks back to against the Tigers:

The loss wasn't all that bad - but it's been horribly compounded by injuries.

In terms of specialist props - who does the club have outside of Welch and Bromwich next week?

Does anyone think we might see Tuilagi suit up against Manly?
