Form Guide;

Storm Last 5 Games
4 wins, 1 loss
- Beat Newcastle (A) 12 - 26
- Lost to Panthers (A) 21 - 14
- Beat Warriors (H) 50 - 6
- Beat Roosters (H) 27 - 25
- Beat Canberra (H) 14 - 20

Titans Last 5 Games
2 wins, 3 losses
- Lost to Rabbitohs (A) 12 - 32
- Lost to Dragons (H) 8 - 20
- Beat Broncos (A) 12 - 30
- Lost to Sharks (H) 10 - 40
- Beat Warriors (H) 16 - 12

We need to take this game seriously or risk having our pants pulled down. We will be down on troops but should still have the class to get the win IF we apply ourselves.

Storm v Titans: Munster return looms; Hipgrave in doubt
NRL.com
Mon 13 Jul 2020

The NRL's newest neighbours will square off, with the Storm welcoming the Titans to their temporary home on the Sunshine Coast.

What would have been a 1700km trip to the Victoria capital is now a 180km bus trip for a Titans side chasing an upset.

Gold Coast displayed impressive perseverance to turn a 12-0 deficit into a 16-12 win over the Warriors last weekend while the Storm did what they do best and ground out another victory.

The Rundown

Team news
Storm: Cameron Munster could return from a knee injury after being named on the extended bench last week. If fit, he would replace Ryley Jacks, who picked up his own knee injury against the Raiders. Cooper Johns could receive his NRL debut if the pair are both ruled out. Prop Jesse Bromwich is in doubt as he also suffered a knee injury.
Titans: Keegan Hipgrave is doubtful after he played on with a painful shoulder injury against the Warriors. Ash Taylor will have to pass HIA protocols after failing to finish last week’s game with a head knock. Mitch Rein will be sidelined another three weeks or so with a knee injury.

Key match-up
Anthony Don v Josh Addo-Carr: In a battle of contrasting styles, the leaping ability and power of Don will come up against the blinding speed and elusiveness of Addo-Carr. Don will like his chances at gathering in attacking kicks, while Addo-Carr will be seeking one-on-one opportunities.

Stat Attack
Titans utility player Tyrone Peachey was back to his electric best in the win over the Warriors. He ran for 155m and made 33 tackles in his 54 minutes on the field. The Titans will need more of the same against the Storm.

A number of question marks this week with a lot of players under an injury cloud. We probably won't know the true make-up of the team until late in the week.

Don't know how Kaufusi is and whether he will be available for selection. Munster? Tui? Jacks? Suli?
I assume Eisenhuth will be out for 3-4 weeks with a hammy issue.
Jesse is looking at a few weeks out with the medial strain.

That's 7 players just that I know about. I assume King, Vete and Lewis are all healthy and will come into consideration depending where we land on the injury front.

Finucane could push up into prop again, with Brandon coming on at starting lock.
Johns could come in at half.
Smith could move to half again, with Brandon to 9.

Could be a disrupted week which helps the Titans chances of causing a boilover.

Schonig didn't look out of place the other night. Would be surprised if he didn't get on the bench again. Another start for Tino please.

Im not against Seve being replaced but that would leave you with four forwards. Trouble then if an outside back going down.

Yea, you're right. Seve or Hynes for the token "in case of an injury/give him 5 mins at the end" player.

Give it to Nicho then

Chris Lewis is an option for your 5 minutes a game just in case utility. Craig Bellamy said after his debut that he took Tom Eisenhuth's utility spot on the bench. Lewis has spent some time at centre.

Interesting but not surprising read on the NRL Coach Killers on Foxsports. Just how long do you give the excuse of a work in progress.

Just had a look at the schedule for the rest of the year. To me it can be logically chunked up into phases.

The 'home' stretch against lower ranked teams
Rd 10 - Titans - Sunshine Coast
Rd 11 - Broncos - Suncorp
Rd 12 - Knights - Sunshine Coast
Rd 13 - Bulldogs - Sunshine Coast

The tough, mostly away games against higher ranked teams
Rd 14 - Roosters - Away TBD
Rd 15 - Eels - Away TBD
Rd 16 - Sea Eagles - Home TBD
Rd 17 - Rabbitohs - Away TBD

The relatively easy run home
Rd 18 - Cowboys - Home TBD
Rd 19 - Tigers - Home TBD
Rd 20 - Dragons - Away TBD

I say this with all the respect in the world, but the last few years it is pretty clear that Bellamy hasn't had us hitting peak form heading into finals. Like all Storm fans, I'm hoping that we can fix that this year.

Like virtually everything this year, a lot depends on how COVID goes in Sydney. If the Sydney teams are forced to relocate to QLD, they are suddenly on ta level playing field as us.

I'm excited to see how we handle things.
