Unfortunately our attack hasn’t seemed to improve :(

You are right we have no attack. We also need a half back that does more than bomb the ball to nowhere at the end of set. Do something else or anything else.

Just after you write that he puts in a beautiful kick for Suli  You’re right though, he hadn’t done much until that point.

And again Hughes for Suli! Four kicks in the one play, ending in a try. A bit of luck but I’ll take it.

Our non Smith last tackle options has been the mid field bomb the last couple of seasons. I’m not sure on the tactic.

Forwards largely played well although Jesse Bromwich coughed up a few easy balls.

All in all it was an extremely clunky performance but the pack muscled up and grinded Manly down.

The key to it really was when the Sea Eagles had the ascendancy going up to half-time but opted to take two penalty goals in the space of four minutes.

I thought the kicking game today was actually the best I've seen in a while (asides from one or two wayward bombs).

Smith once again playing a different game to everyone else. Brilliant game from our skipper.

Olam was excellent. So impressed with where he has got to. Seve also did well, particularly in defence. Tui was very, very good. Tino played his best NRL game to date. Paps was busy and picked up where he left off last year.

J Brom had good involvement with runs, but some disappointing drops. Munster was poor.

We definitely need more work on our attack. 80mins and not a single line break... That is concerning.

Well apart from our 1 2 3 6 7 9 all playing separate games and trying to be the hero they finally got it together after an hour

As is the case every year, in the early rounds, completions = victories. If you are completing better than your opposition, the vast majority of time you will win.

The only team that won with a lower completion rate than the opposition this week was the Knights (81%) over the Warriors (85%) in the game of the round with easily the highest completion rate %.
