How about the Broncos form?

Broncos - “We’ll take Croft, but only if Storm chip in on his salary.”
Storm - “Nah, don’t worry about it”
Broncos - “Ok, we will look elsewhere than.”
Storm - “You do that”
...
Broncos - “Ok, we’ll pay”

Are they paying it all? I'll be annoyed if we're paying him to play for them.

Sure...but if paying $100k means shifting $400K out of our salary cap and we can hopefully retain Curtis Scott...then I'm all for it

Is there any half back options worth considering at the Tigers or Falcons?

Not really...

Brodie is apparently on $400K
If we were to pay $100K on his Broncos salary, it still counts on our Salary Cap.
Plus we have to replace Brodie with at least a minimum wage player ($105K in 2019)
So if we pay $100K to the Broncos, we only save $200K from the cap.

Perhaps Nicho Hynes could be the go unless Ryley Jacks is brought back?

I have heard Nico Haynes name as being a possible halfback. Does anybody know if he has played in the position

Would seriously take SD back in heartbeat....I''ll even drive to Townsville to pick him up and bring him back to Melbourne.

Letting Drinkwater leave instead of developing him into a first grade halfback looks so much worse now than it did a few months back and it was bad then. I even wonder if he'd have preferred to stay given where both clubs are at now.

On the halfback for 2020 topic. I wonder if that Smith to halfback story had any legs to it. With Grant re-signing it's hard to imagine him wanting to sit another season with no first grade. Smith moving positions would help there.

100%. Grant being re-signed so early in the year can only mean we've committed to playing him in first grade. Whether it's at 9, off the bench or even turning him into a 7?
