Croft has been named co-captain of the Brisbane Broncos... :shock2:
The other co-captain is 22 year old Patrick Carrigan who has played 19 NRL games.
Says a lot about the Broncos. Both of these players would be lucky to be in the Storm's emerging leadership group.
No, Carrigan has always been a leader of junior sides.
There is a difference between being a leader of junior sides and being co-captain of an NRL side at 22.

Hope you were watching then last night. Both stood up when it mattered.

Was that before or after Brodie’s forward pass and kick that went dead giving the Cows a 7 tackle set with the game in the balance?

Brodie played an overall decent game. Doing that consistently has always been his problem.

Also, one win doesn’t equate to good leadership. I can remember Brodie having borderline tantrums at Storm teammates who made a handling error.

Bump.

Interesting reading this thread again at the conclusion of the 2020 season...

Not the prototypical half but Hughes came along way this season. Given his talents it's hard to doubt him getting even better after another offseason.

He's just exceeded all expectations and deserves that ring

Bellamy is a genius...he saw something in Hughes no-one else did. In the top 4 or 5 halves in the NRL for sure.

Full credit the Hughes, though. He would have worked overtime to get to where he is now...still plenty of improvement left in him too

Hughes went from not playing first grade for 3 years to winning b2b fullback of the year awards in the QCup to filling in perfectly for the GOAT fullback to winning a premiership at halfback. Some lima lima lima duck journey.
