Okay, got bored so I thought I'd do an outline for the Player Of The year Awards (well, have done it over the last few weeks when I felt like it :)):

1) Judges
a) Each week 3 judges shall be selected to judge on the 3 best Storm Players for the round. Those 3 judges will come from the panel of 9 with weekly selections decided by the awards management (ME! :))
b) The Judges panel consists of the following people: Bunnies, gooSoi, Insomniac, KINGY, Mike_Th-e_Undertaker, Steaming Stormer, StormGurlDani, Thinga87 and Thunderstruck
c) Messages will be sent out in advance to confirm your availability, so I won't just go a couple of days beforehand "Hey, it's your turn in 2 days" and then wonder why nothing happens because your on holidays in the Bahamas.

2) Selections
a) The process is simple. Watch the match, choose who you think were the 3 best players for the Storm, and award points on a 3-2-1 basis to those players.
b) Once you've made your decisions, please send me a PM with your top 3 players and a short thing as to why they were one of the best on the field
c) Once all 3 judges have sent in their 3-2-1 points, I will post the results in the initial post of the thread and also in an individual post at the bottom of the thread too.
d) If for some reason someone is unable to get the results in, I will step in as 3rd judge for the week or find another judge to fill in for the match if possible at short notice.
e) Friday and Saturday games, I will try to post on Sunday arvo's or Monday arvos. Sunday matches, I will leave until Monday night to get them up.

3) Leaderboard
a) For the first 13 rounds, the results will be posted with the points earnt by each player and a table updated each week as to who is currently leading
b) For rounds 14-26 will all be behind closed doors. No points, no names, no idea who's gone where in the last 13 rounds until the end of the season when points will be revealed
c) Finals matches will also be included and treated as the final half of the season, with all points being kept silent
d) No longer applicable
e) Any persons found to be divulging the nature of their votes from the 2nd half of the season will be removed from all further judging for the remainder of the year and the points from that match could be forfeited and be rejudged by someone else. (Hey, I need SOME Hitler like rule in here, otherwise it's no fun!   )

4) Man Of The Match
a) Each week a Man Of The Match will be named at the bottom of the 3 judges choices.
b) The MoM is decided by the player who recieves the most points combined from the judges. If two or more are tied, MoM will be decided as follows:
i) The player who recieved votes from the most judges shall be the MoM
eg. Matt King scores 3 pts off judge 1, 2 pts off judge 2, and 0 off judge 3 - totalling 5
Dallas Johnson scores 2 pts off judge 1, 1 pt off judge 2, and 2 pts off judge 3 - totalling 5
as DJ has scored off of all 3 judges, he would be named MoM over Matt King
ii) Should that be equal, the player with the shortest range of votes shall be the MoM
eg. Matt King scores 2 pts off judge 1, 1 pt off judge 2 and 2 pts off judge 3 - totalling 5 again
Dallas Johnson scores 1 pt pff judge 1, 3 pts off judge 2, and 1 pt off judge 3 - totalling 5.
The difference between Matt Kings highest and lowest score is 1pt (2-1)
The difference between Dallas Johnson's highest and lowest score is 2pts(3-1)
So Matt King would be MoM as his recieved points more consistent than Dallas Johnson's
iii) If that's still even there obviously wasn't much between the 2 players and I get to decide who the MoM was between the 2 players. (Hey, there has to be a winner in there somewhere!) :)
c) The MoM will be the MoM used for the Tip Trophy

ENJOY THE SEASON!

I'm sure he will....

....and if he doesn't give more try assists to the opposition than he does to Storm he might get some votes.
We must all hang together or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately

So what you're really saying TC is that he has a one in nine chance of getting a vote?

I was bored but in a Storm sorta mood today, so I made a banner for the game on Sunday to have another dig at Joey and decided to actually come up with some proper guideline for this thing. Could all judges please check out 3rd post from the top. ;)

Okay, votes are in for round 1 (I'm still in Melbourne, they won't always come this late ;))

Steaming Stormer

3 - Matt Orford. Led the boys around the field superbly all day. Great kicking game today. Scoring two tries and setting up a number of others. Clearly set the standard for the team today.
2 - Dallas Johnson. As per usual, a very solid game especially in defence. Also did some good work hitting the ball up, and certainly provides us with another point of attack.
1. – Brett White. This could have gone to any number of players, but I have gone with Brett White. There really was a lot to like about his performance. From the minute he took the field, he was straight into it, ripping into the Newcastle pack. Grabbed a try on debut and I really think this guy could be the forward we've been missing to go a bit further this season.

Honorable mentions to Ryan Hoffman, Alex Chan, Matt King, Billy Slater and Matt Geyer

StormGurlDani

3 - orford great leadership around the field was great and his kicking game was on song.
2 - slater - well 3 try's helps, most of the time ready to back up forwards making a break.
1 - hoffman - great go forward with the time he was on, he will get better with experience
it was really hard to get it down to 3 players, johson, king and white could also be in there

Insomniac

3 - Billy Slater - Although a bit pedestrian at times (heat related I imagine), his 3 tries (including 'S.O.O brilliance part 2') = 3 points!
2 - Matt King - barnstorming performance, no errors or missed tackles, led the stats in line breaks and metres gained, plus a couple of try assists... all that while managing to keep his head from overheating with all that hair!!
1 - Brett White - great debut, scored a try and led the forwards in metres gained, zero missed tackles or errors... a star in the making!

StormLeague.com Mam Of The Match award goes to Matt Orford

Current ladder:

6 - Matt Orford
5 - Billy Slater
2 - Dallas Johnson
2 - Mattt King
2 - Brett White
1 - Ryan Hoffman

Round 2 Judges:

Bunnies
KINGY
Thinga87
