I'm also not convinced about Hughes at FB (and not just from this game either) - if his defensive efforts and positional play don't improve quickly we're going to need someone else to take over or we'll be in a lot of trouble defending our own line.

How much game time did NAS get last night? I don't remember seeing much of him, but I thought he went OK when I did see him. But Bellamy's use of the bench has been strange this year to say the least!
Spot on with Hughes. He wont get dropped because he's done enough to hold a spot and the only guy who could replace him is injured, but he's not shown a lot of urgency at the back and he always seems out of position.

NAS played 31 minutes the other night. 6 runs for 60m. Only 1 missed tackle and 1 error. A positive night for him.

Error wasn't a real one either

I'm not feeling that 6 runs in 30 minutes is really enough from a strike forward.
The 'error' decision was a shocker - one of several on the night.

NRL has admitted that the Fox/touchline decision was wrong. Fat lot of good it does three days later.

It changes the WHOLE match from that point onwards....tries, injuries, winning team.

The ball stays with Storm.......potentially a try to Storm....potentially no try to them......a whole set of different events for the entire game.

Everything changes from a totally incorrect and let's call it what it is...incompetent referee call.....a 100 year old rule...not just a 50 - 50 call which is part of the game.
Remember this day, men, for it will be yours for all time

No, it potentially changes stuff. That's it. You can't know it changes the game - nothing to say that Nelson doesn't knock it on next play.

What's concerning is that in years past we would have muscled up, not let in a soft try a couple of plays later. And that has been a defining characteristic of this season. Our defence is generally good, but whenever anything goes wrong the boy's heads drop.
Shit happens sometimes, but in the past the boys have usually found a way to deal with it.
