Just another example of the NRL’s utter incompetence and inconsistency.

Scott was suspended purely for the injury caused. A guy fronting him, literally begging him for a fight.

King hit someone not looking though, as long as they aren’t injured, all good ???

Of course the effectiveness of the punch is a factor - I don't think he actually landed one, that's why he got charged with 'fighting' not striking.
It's also why there's grading levels - with the force of the punch a big factor in that.

If you throw a punch, you're trying to hurt another person outside the rules of the game. Doesn't matter if you break his eye socket or brush his moustache, the intent to cause injury to another player means you should spend some time off.

Exactly. He still needs a suspension. It doesn't have to be as much as someone who does damage, but the message needs to be sent.

I can’t believe Hughes got dropped.

Dale on the extended bench? Jeez, must be struggling with that thumb.

Brodie wins the race for the halfback spot (seemingly). I guess the answer is Craig prefers the benefits of a traditional halfback. Really tough luck for Jahrome.

In that line up, he could only play at 7.

and they want Brodie.

STORM enforcer Jesse Bromwich is wary of Sunday’s game in New Zealand with the reigning premier set to welcome back a string of stars nursing State of Origin hangovers.

Fingers crossed we get Dale back as a late inclusion, unfortunately pushing Tui out. If only the same would happen with Joe...

Am I the only one worried that Brandon Smith will be the one to drop out if Finucane comes back in?

I seriously doubt it. At least, I frigging hope not.

You would hope that Brandon’s output this year has more than secured his place in our best 17.

I think Smith has become a certain stater (bench player) every week now.

Jeez that's real tough on Hughes if he is dropped. I don't know the correct answer here but I do know he should be in the team no matter what.
