I know when Hoffy came back, there was doubts (I was one of them) about where he fits in the side.
I was wrong.. he's been solid as a rock. Still has a few errors in him (I can't find the error stat to confirm or if this is just what we all feel), but food for thought...
Hoffy
91.4m per game
320 tackles @ 90.3%
12 offloads
1 line break
2 line break assists
Fus:
75.4m per game
365 tackles @ 90.1%
10 offloads
4 line breaks
0 line break assists

He's been involved in many defensive problems that have lead to tries but has generally been solid defending 1 on 1. His metres per game is misleading when you look into how many runs he has and how little impact those runs are actually having. Plus of course the mistakes he brings with him. Can't fault his work rate but he shouldn't be an 80 minute forward.

Good on you Hoffy ! Superb effort from the veteran.
That was massive. I thought for all money he was going to knock that on, but he did brilliantly to reel it in.steaming stormer wrote:the effort to dive on the ball...
Can’t remember which game it was, but one recently, we would have won if Hoffman just fell on a lose ball. Instead he spilled it and the opposition go on to score.
Great to square the ledger.
The offside was a joke and the players chasing down the kicks knew it so they took off even quicker.
Our boys were in Crofts pocket before he kicked it
Hoffy aint complaining though.
He has lost pace and not heart.
So with a head start; he was able to become a kick down hero.

Hoffy retires...yay, um I mean, oh, thanks for the brilliant memories and your staunch loyalty to the Melbourne cause. A brilliant hole runner in his prime. A good call from him, I think. Will never forgot that moment of brilliance vs Rooters.
I was on Anthony Quinn and he came good with the chockies in the Parradoesn'tmatta GF. Ker-ching. SYdney bookmakers paying was over the odds on Melbourne to win that day - also the day my profile pic was taken...I cleaned up... mind you, I gave it all back to them the next vs those scumbag Bearkillers. That was an ugly day.
