Just what we need right now
Great timing with Jonah out as well.

Against Wests Tigers with no Munster could we see Meaney at five eighth and Sua at fullback?

Gee I hope he gets healthy and gets a good run at it.

He's great, but,
He's not the Messiah. (Cue the Monty Python smirks)

Bigger problems than fullback
Sadly, if he's a Monty python character, it's the post-fight black knight these days

Eli Katoa apparently had surgery on his eye and will miss 3 - 4 weeks best case.

It was a cut/split in the the eyelid. A normal doctor can't usually stich an eyelid. It needs to be done by a plastic surgeon. Also, the wound has to be 100% healed because you can not risk the wound splitting open again. Eyelids are very delicate parts of the body and something you must have working correctly. Other wise you have to wear an eye patch.

He has a grade one concussion and has to miss 11 days. But we have a bye so he should be alright to play on Saturday week against the roosters

not what the paper said yesterday. Only going on what I read. But story was taken by the Herald Sun straight from the Daily Telegraph and written by Sydney journalists. The Herald Sun seem to take all their stories on us straight out of Sydney and don't write their own anymore. Even the story the did about our return to Marvel Stadium and they history of our games there was written by a Daily Telegraph journalist. Gone are the days the write anything themselves about Storm.

Injury report copied from Papenhuyzen23 in the Storm warriors thread back to the injury thread

After re-injuring his groin in Fiji last month, Cameron Munster may be eyeing a return to the field from Round 3. Ponissi shared that the five-eighth is close to once again pulling on the No.6 jersey, but added he may be given an extra week of rest due to Storm’s upcoming bye in Round 4.

“Given the time of the season the medical staff are being very conservative at the moment, but if he's okay for next Sunday against Newcastle, we'll play him.” Ponissi said.

Following a limited pre-season, forward Nelson Asofa-Solomona is also eyeing a return to the game-day squad. A hamstring injury has kept him off the field for the past few weeks, but since returning to full training, Asofa-Solomona will aim to run out with the Club’s Hostplus Cup feeder team, the Sunshine Coast Falcons over the weekend.

Grant Anderson, will get his first taste of footy in 2024 when he runs out for the Falcons after undergoing shoulder surgery in the off-season.

Bronson Garlick and Ammaron ‘AJ’ Gudgeon will also look to return to full training by the end of the month.

That was an encouraging report from Frank - less doom and gloom re Munster than some pundits had suggested. If he is back and firing after the bye that would be excellent. In the interim, get a few more games into Jonah.

In a now deleted radio clip, Storm legend Cameron Smith has accidentally confirmed Cameron Munster’s injury is worse than first thought, throwing his immediate future into doubt.
Cameron Smith has provided an inadvertent insight into Cameron Munster’s ongoing injury frustration after an off-air conversation was accidentally uploaded as part of his SEN podcast.
The conversation, between Smith and co-host Denan Kemp, was quickly removed but not before it was copied and distributed on the internet.
Munster is yet to play this season after aggravating a lingering groin injury when he slipped while getting out of the shower in Fiji.
The Storm have pencilled him in for a return in round five against the Brisbane Broncos – they have Newcastle this weekend and then the bye – but his comeback will be contingent on him proving his fitness.
While the Storm are optimistic he will be back, Smith seemed to suggest there were no guarantees in his conversation with Kemp.
“It’s a bit concerning the Munster thing, hey,” Smith said.
“They have no idea, they actually have no idea when he is going to be okay. He can hardly run. The last I heard was before last week’s game, they (were) just like mate it is a day by day thing.”
