Great to see Hughes named. Was wondering what was happening with him over the trials... Glad to see no serious injury.

Glad to see Jahrome playing. Young still being around sucks.

Also - This will be an interesting game. I wonder how both teams will approach it.

Will it be a dead serious game? Very unlikely but maybe the Cows want to save face after the GF.

A usual trial game? Opportunity to continue to work on combinations and structures under match conditions. Most likely.

I’m hopeful of something a little different. A somewhat light-hearted attacking showcase in the vein of the NBA Allstar game. Defences aren’t NRL-level urgent and only 75%-ish efforts.

I think that would give both sides the freedom to try some things outside of the box as well as a reduced risk of injury.

Suli pulled up sore after the WCC. Rested as a precaution and good for Rd 1.

Still no Sam Kasiano. He had an injury pre-Christmas , and again for the last few weeks. He might lose that new ripping physique ! I hope he will be ok for round 1.

He won't be able to get into the team. No way you can drop any of Nas, Welch, kbro or Brandon based on last week's game. Only way in for him is through injuries

Sam Kasiano is being saved for the first game of the season against his old mob at Canterbury.
