As I understand it, the playing list for next year looks like this so far. There are to be 30 players on the list from next year:

Confirmed
1. Josh Addo-Carr
2. Nelson Asofa-Solomona
3. Cheyse Blair
4. Jesse Bromwich
5. Kenny Bromwich
6. Will Chambers
7. Brodie Croft
8. Dale Finucane
9. Tim Glasby
10. Jahrome Hughes
11. Ryley Jacks
12. Tui Kamikamica
13. Sam Kasiano
14. Felise Kaufusi
15. Vincent Leuluai
16. Cameron Munster
17. Ryan Papenhuyzen
18. Curtis Scott
19. Brandon Smith
20. Cameron Smith
21. Joe Stimson
22. Young Tonumaipea
23. Suliasi Vunivalu
24. Christian Welch

Maybe
Scott Drinkwater (I believe he has a year to run on his original contract but can't find it anywhere)
Sale Finau
Charlie Galo
Luis Geragthy
Harry Grant (They said he has a contract on the Under 20s broadcast)
Slade Griffin
Jeremy Hawkins
Ryan Hoffman (Rumours he will sign)
Nate Myles
Mark Nicholls
Justin Olam (Option in club's favour I believe)
Robbie Rochow
Billy Slater (Positive talk about him signing on)
Shem Tatupu (Team option)
Lachlan Timm (Heard somewhere he may have signed for next year)
Jake Turpin
Billy Walters (Apparently we are chasing him)

Of the maybes, I think the most likely six are
Grant
Hoffman
Slater
Walters
Drinkwater
Olam

Does anyone know anything different?

We're chasing Pat Kaufusi. I think we've got a good chance of getting him too with Felise being here

Strong roster, we will likely go close again. If Slater re-signs and we get Pat Kaufusi, even better.

Hoping we can offload Young T. He's surplus.

I am regrettably ignorant on the whole list number rules. However there are 35 players listed on the website ( less Britt but add Rochow ). So what does that mean in terms of reference to 30 for next year? We are losing 3 for sure ( Jordy, Tohu and Cooper ) ) and gaining Kasiano and Ryan P. That makes 34. Do we have to get that down to 30 ? That seems unworkable, give we must grab Harry G, Louis G and Scott D.

You can have as many as you want I believe, as long as your highest paid 30 players fit within the salary cap. It can create confusion when you have Under 20s contracted players also playing QCup or first grade.

Top squad goes up from 25 to 30, don't know what that does to 2nd tier

I know we were keen on signing Sisa Waqa as a mid-season signing prior to the Nate Myles signing back in May.

Any chance that Waqa may come back next season as depth in the wings? He'd be an upgrade on Tonumaipea.

If we are looking at 6 'maybes' to add to the bottom of the list for next season I suspect the following:

Billy Slater
Ryan Hoffman
Sisa Waqa
Scott Drinkwater
Pat Kaufusi
Billy Walters

The Storm let Waqa trial/train with us but afterwards weren't interested in signing him. Didn't impress enough it seems.

I really want us to give Sandor Earl a chance...only problem with that is our outside back are obv doing a good job and Sandor only wants to come back and play NRL ...I don't think he would be happy to wait around for a spot in the NRL while playing QCup...he needs a club that need a centre or wingers immediately

I would be annoyed if he got a go ahead of Addo-Carr, Scott, Vunivalu, Blair or Hughes.

Think we still have a need for a veteran half, and probably some dudes who can play in the backrow who aren't 34.
