I really rate Welch but he played pretty poorly against the Tigers (before his head knock obviously). His contact in defence was rubbish - 5 missed tackles in the 17min he was on the field. He might benefit from a week in reserves to work on his defensive contact before he takes the place of Nicholls or Kamikamicha.

Good to see Curtis Scott back.
Unfortunately it seems Jeremy Hawkins' bad luck continues. He went off in the first half last weekend, did not return and I sent not named this week. Poor guy just cannot get a run at it. There is likely to be a centre spot available during Origin, but maybe Justin Olam is at the head of that queue ( or would they play Young there? )

Just had a bit of a look at training today
I don't think we will see McLean this week as couldn't see him out there. Maybe waiting till later in the week to test him.
Welch was out there
Slater was training so he is fine
Munster was training aswell so could be a chance for next week.
Didn't see NAS or jesse but that may be normal as still early.

According to QRL live website Dean Britt is currently playing for Easts Tigers. Therefore first grade squad effectively down to 18 before tomorrow.

Big blow with Bromwich and Blair out. Blair has been very good to start the year

Blair has a bad history with back problems. Sidelined him for almost a year when at Manly. Hopefully not anything serious like that.
