Falcons don't deserve to lose this. They lead for 78 minutes

Tough way to lose but it felt like PNG were going to go over the top of them the entire 2nd half. Falcons had multiple opportunities to close it out. Really unimpressive from Jacks.

Spewing was hoping to see "two" Storm teams play next week. Having said that if Hunters were playing anyone but Falcons or Tigers I would be pumped for Hunters win. Massive for PNG Rugby League.

Agree Blazza Falcons had plenty of opportunities. Couldn't get a repeat set.

Falcons had their chances to put it away. Poor last tackle options twice by Hamilton and then unfortunately by Ryley Jacks.

Hughes limped off with 10 to go, which hurt.

Brandon Smith enormous - a tackling machine, quick delivery and smart decisions in attack- but we all already knew that.

Lachlan Timm looked really good as a prop.

That's a bad omen for the main game next week

I find tigger's constant trolling humourous given the fact he's only typing with one hand. The other one is obviously busy!

I support Brisbane Norths so have no distress over the result but I am THRILLED for the Hunters. With their win and the Orchids making their debut against the Jillaroos it has been a massive week for rugby league in PNG!

Smith also went down with a sore shoulder late.

Jacks with a poor grubber kick at the end. Hamilton being a ball hog didn't help either.

Way too many errors cost the Falcons.

If the Falcons got a repeat set when they were on the PNG line, it's all over... Instead Jacks kicked it straight to the closest PNG player, a relatively soft penalty and it was all over from there.

The second half from the Falcons was really quite poor, particularly last play options.

A report on the Storm website says Jahrome has a suspected broken foot. That is a great shame. He would otherwise no doubt have been picked in the 21, warmed up with the team and been able to experience the grand final closeup. He has had an excellent season.

Does anyone know when the Falcons and Tigers have their player of the year awards?

Some 2018 signing news:
Easts Tigers have re-signed Shane Neumann and have signed outside back Delroy Berryman (Manly and ex-Redcliffe), outside back Evander Cummins (former Souths Logan and Redcliffe) and forward Harley Aiono (Redcliffe).

Steven Thorpe and Mat Pittman have announced their retirement.

According to the Sunshine Coast Daily, Sunshine Coast Falcons have re-signed Dane Hogan, Jye Ballinger, Harrison Muller, Matthew Soper-Lawler, Christopher Lewis and Alexander Copelin.

The Falcons have also signed Jack Kavanagh (Central Queensland Capras) and another couple of Storm Under 20s Caleb Daunt and Jake Ainsworth.
