Hampton to Cows
McLean to Cows
Green to UnManly.

Thoughts?

2/3 correct but McLean will not be released before end of 2017 (that is from the club).

The conundrum that all clubs are facing is that no one knows what the salary cap is from 2018 onwards and that is holding up clubs from resigning players in advance as it could be anywhere from 500k to $2 million rise.

Some commentators keep saying our cap is almost full next year but we are losing Green, Hampton and Koroibete and replacing them with cheaper substitutes (admittedly Coopers contract will absorb some of that).

I imagine from the clubs view, that next year would be Slaters last - unless he had an absolute blinder.
Even if he was resigned, the club would not be paying big $$ after almost 2 years injured and that should free up space in our cap in 2018.

JMac is a Bellamy fav, so I expect the club to work hard to hold onto him (possible backended contract?).

Unfortunately, I think we will be dealing with a lot of gossip from Sydney media until the RLPA sign off the next salary cap & the club can make more informed decisions from there.

That story had been already refuted by club last week via Melbourne journos who actually used facts & research as well as contacting club for comment - McLean & Suli are contracted till end of 2017 and will NOT be released.

No secret that cows want Jmac but this rumour is a case of several rumours being melded into one. Started as one rumour on NRL360 & than MMM Sydney added Suli into the mix to justify why McLean would be going. (At no point did any of Sydney or Qld media actually take note that both were contracted).

That is (for the meantime) a blessed relief.

Yes, at all costs we must retain Nelson.

Any reason Green hasn't actually signed with Manly yet? Still waiting to see Cronk deal and if there's cap room?

IMHO would imply that Green is ready and willing to stay at Storm on "reasonable" money..
