Storm v NZ Warriors @ OP (Round 24) thread
He went ok, can't miss him out there, big bloke with an Orange headgear. Aggressive and made an impact.ryanstorm wrote: I very dissapointed we lost but lets hope we can respond and win next week. How did Lima play.
"Better to have Won then Lost, than to have never won at all" Arrogant, but true hahahaha

I really have to say that the only way that Boofa played at that kick from Orford was if he cracked a fat.

Not one of our best, was it?
As I said in another thread, credit to the Warriors for making the decisive play in the end, but bloody hell, we made some stupid errors at critical times...
Me waiting for a train @ Richmond station after the match --->
(fortunately I only had to wait about 5 min as I left straight after Inglis dropped the ball with less than 1 min to go...)
(btw I'm a bit loath to start any more game threads in case we lose - dammit the Curse of the Seagoon has struck again!!! PMSL )

Oh well, can't win them all...look out Raiders we will make somone pay for tonight's loss
On another note, did anyone have a problem with the traffic around OP/ Rod Laver. Mate of mine told me that "Wolverine" from the X-Men was over at Rod Laver doing his Boy from Oz thing. Got a bit frustrating at times but still managed to get to the game on time (just)

With only two weeks to go in the regular season this is irrelevant.lotti wrote: guys we're still ontop of the table with a 6 point buffer.
We have one away game & one home game to fix things & fine tune for the finals campaign

i was disappointed tonight, it was a game that had we been playing our best we would have won. have to give credit to the warriors though they played an awesome game and i for one am glad that wont take any part of the finals series
Kingy why o why when you do actually drop one does it have to be that one!
Kaufusi was easily our best on ground tonight.
Anyone know why cronk went of at the end of the game? I didnt notice he was gone until i saw him standing on the sidelines waiting to come back on with 2 minutes left

That's true. We should have really won tonight but there were some worrying aspects in the game (eg our handling, incomplete sets, defence, missed tackles) which hopefully Bellamy will iron out. Congrats to the Warriors, they played brilliantly tonight and derserved the win.bourbon_rat wrote:With only two weeks to go in the regular season this is irrelevant.lotti wrote: guys we're still ontop of the table with a 6 point buffer.

Disappointing but it was totally unexpected for me. Warriors were always going to come out with all guns blazing - they after all had nothing to lose.
How many times did we not get the kick in? Damn that was frustrating and Kingy's dropped ball right near the try line *sigh*.
Full credit to the Warriors though - they played a helluva lot better than us tonight and deserved the win.
According to Robbie and Robbo it's their fault we lost tonight so we'll just blame them

I was thinking during the game that if we ended up winning, it would say a lot about our team - that we can play that bad and still win. Well, we didn't win, but we weren't far of it.
Considering how well the Warriors played (yes, they did make some pretty stupid mistakes themselves, but their intensity and enthusiasm was high for the majority of the game), it's encouraging that we didn't let the game slip completely out of our grasp.
We didn't seem to have our heads in the game tonight (which is understandable after receiving the Minor Premiership trophy prior to kickoff for this game), and our defense certainly wasn't as rock solid as it has been over the last couple of months. There were some very uncharacteristic mistakes from our guys, some missed opportunities, some poor reffing decisions (for both sides), but ultimately I think the game came down to the incorrect ruling of "not played at".
I can't believe that as well as missing the fact that the Warriors player did indeed play at the ball (that Geyer kicked) and consequently knocked it into touch, none of the officials picked up on the fact that the Warriors winger cursed at himself as soon as he touched it, thus admitting the error, and they still ruled that it wasn't played at and that it was a change over. Everyone knew it was played at except the damn referees!
Nevertheless, we certainly won't win Finals footy if we play like that again, so the guys better be back on song next week, primed and ready to start another streak that takes them all the way to a Grand Final win. They need to put the MP out of their minds for the time being, and concentrate on the bigger picture.
Hoffman, Kaufusi, Smith and Inglis (apart from his one crucial dropped ball) were my picks for Storm's best, with an honorable mention to Blair who was trying very hard and pulled off that massive hit!
