Frank Ponissi has now clarified the matter for us all....

Speculation had swirled Waqa would join Canberra as part of a player swap, with Robinson heading to Melbourne.

Ponissi doused those rumours, pointing to an exciting bunch of youngsters coming through, such as Cameron Munster.

"It won't be happening. I think he's a wonderful player Reece, but we're OK there,'' Ponissi said.

"We've got a couple of young players coming through, it would only be blocking the road of some young blokes.''

Maybe it's a sign we are trying to rack up the money for Beale idk just thoughts.
Don't forget we've upgraded a crop of our young players the past year or so, as well as extending Smith to around $1 million a season. I reckon we have money for some smallish depth signings like we usually do, but no way would we have enough for a big money signing.

The Storm have been linked to Titans centre Brad Takarangi and ex-Titans forward Anthony Lafrancchi.

Would've loved Lafranchi a few year ago, real workhorse but while i don't know how he's been going over there in the UK, given he's 34 this year you'd have to think he's getting a bit old. Maybe on a one year deal and a small wage.

At the moment, I would like to see anyone coming to the club, been too many going the other way IMO.

if we could, as rumoured, get soliola and takairangi, that would be a pretty reasonable recruiting year once you throw in green and koroibete as well.

Laffranchi would be the team adding a veteran just to add a veteran. A classic Bellamy signing. I'd much prefer that spot just go to a young guy.

Takarangi would either be centre or bench second rower

I wonder how much interest there is for Mahe on the market... Surely other clubs would be expressing interest? Hopefully we wrap him up shortly.
